ah a 30's not that bad. i never had a prob out of them with all the cherokees ive had but a d35 is just plan junk. 8.8 or 8.25 should have been the only option. back to topic= id run a 30 for a muti use rig {bang} but for this kinda $  {boohoo}i can buy another cherokee. Like i said though just depends on who you are, not worth it to me but others it might be. Apples to oranges i guess {ehm}

If I'm reading this correctly it's a HP D30 right? So how does this axle compare with a standard D44? I'm getting ready to spend money on building a that Waggy 44 and can't do it under the cost of this axle, what's the advantage?

An HP30 is supposed to be something like 15% stronger than the LP30 since they run on the drive side of the gears instead of coast side.

In a forward direction, and weaker in reverse.

Those waggy outers are a lot stronger than the HP or LP 30 outers.  Axle shafts and joints are all bigger/stronger.  But it's not a bolt in package.  Just depends on which direction you want to go.

I'm trying to understand the cost to actual strength ratio versus actual use, if that makes any sense! If a person will never go bigger than 35's, it will still be driven on the streets as a daily driver, is it really more advantageous to build up the Waggy or buy something like this and call it the day.

I would stay with building the 44 if you already have it. You would be fine with a beefed up 30 on 35's but with the 44 you always have the abililty to build it stronger to hold a bigger tire. They say a fully built 30 is about as strong as a mild built 44. And with the 44 you have locking huds witch in my eyes is aways a plus. Just my 2$

Food for thought.
Jeep put a D30 in all stock jeeps. When they build the rubi's they up grade the axle to a 44. I would say go with the 44 that way u can up grade later on down the road. Yes this 30 is fully built but it leaves u limited in the long run.
