how do the bottom of the springs keep from dropping out?

It's simply the top of the coil coming away from the upper bump stop.  It's not a special upper spring mount.  If I had to guess, it is at full extension in that photo.  I think that is Jeremy's XJ.

You'd definitely need some good, new A/Ts or you'd do better with M/Ts.  Tell 'em Chris, how those Bighorns blow other tires away.   ;)

I have to have the vehicle tagged and insured to park at the house due to Homeowner's Association rules.  So with a little work and a little more cheating, I passed emissions and now run over stuff in the subdivision.
