I had an rc10 about the same time Glenn. There wasn't nearly the selection that they have nowadays. I got a Traxxas stampede with a brushless motor now. I've had it for a year or two. Its fairly inexpensive and fun to play around the house with. Id like to try out an axial or similar but i'm afraid I would get hooked and you can drop some cash quick on those things.

If you want to get into the market cheap and test the waters get a RTR (ready to run). I went with the losi mini crawler. Pretty cheap and they even make a micro now. I quickly discovered I like the sport of it and I wanted to do comps and such but I also love the idea of the scaler builds. Would be pretty cool to find a red LJ body and mount it on a frame and have an RC version of my Jeep.

For me, I would play with it for a few days, then it would sit. If I can't use it, I don't need it. Would really like to have one though. But I could buy a sweet 29'er for the cost.
