I think you could watch it and not get any political undertones unless you look for them.

Only if your 10 year old or younger.

I'll stick to CNN if I want liberal undertones.

I'm gonna watch it tomorrow.  For a special effects a movie I'm not going into it expecting Dead Poets Society story wise.

Think Dancing with Wolves more than Dead Poets Society you will be much closer to the plot.

I didnt think of that. Avatar is just a remake of dancing with wolves.

Was gonna take the kids, but their slow butts made us miss the showing.  Maybe we'll see it in Knoxville with my bro this weekend.

Movie, cinematics and the overall spectacle are great! The way you are immersed into the world you really feel like you are 'in the movie'. It is suppposedly he first 'real' 3D movie and even the background and not just the characters in the front are 3D. It really looks amazing.

Unfortunately the plot leaves a lot to be desired. Very 'by the script' and didn't try anything different. Much as the dialogue was very cheesy. The uneeded corporation bashing and anti-war stuff just wasn't needed but I expected that from Hollywood.

With all that said it is a must see for now. Since nothing really new was tried no one will be repeating lines in 40 years like "Luke I am your father" and the current super funny animated show won't make a spoof of Avatar ;)

Watched it last night.  Pretty good movie. The scenery more than made up for the lack of original story.

Finally went to see it.  Went with some Jeeping friends.  3D IMAX is pretty cool.  Took some time to adjust to them focusing your view for you.

Same as what's already been said.  Special effects and cinematography are pretty awesome.  Plot, dialogue, and characters are all direct copies from every influential story we grew up with.  A couple of lines are almost word for word from Dances With Wolves.  We all felt the music was too intrusive also.  It interfered with scenes by bombasting your senses.

My 13 year old son said that between the shifting focus and the music they were dictating our experience instead of letting us interpret the story.

Gotta see it for the next evolution in special effects.

I'm probably going to wait and rent this one. Heard the cgi is awesome, but the plot is some where between 70's porno and Disney straight to video.
