Easy trail for family/kid outing?

(1/3) > >>

Alpha4x4:
Hey,

What is a good easy trail I can take my daughters on? Aiden's sisters want to go on a "Jeep run" but nothing too extreme, nice and easy. Anybody have a suggestion for a nice Forest service road near Dunwoody I can spend a couple hours on, maybe take the SUV and bring the whole family on a picnic?

Probably going to be North Georgia Forest Service roads. From what I understand a 2wd Jeep could make it through unless it was or recently was rainy.

Brian, search for Hawk Mtn, near dahlonega. There are numerous forestry trails up there. One that makes a big loop and is fun for the kids. Nothing hard but up near Helen has a ton as well. Tray mtn is a good search. Loops around for a good # of miles.

Tray Mtn. is a lil rutted out rite now from all the rain and frozen ground. But is passable in 4wd.We were up there aweek or so.Is nothing you can't handle tho, made most of it in 2wd.
                                          Just my 2 cents.                    Jon

New to the Forum. Just got a new Jeep Live in ATL area. Are these trails your talking about  just well maintained dirt roads in the national forest? Want something easy. Looking for a place where I can test out the quadra lift, 4x4 and get some mud on the new jeep and  but not mess anything up. Not just dirt roads. Any recommendations? Thanks!
