straps
« on: May 06, 2010, 10:36:20 PM »
Been looking for the required straps for the club but had not seen decent deals out there.
Anyone know of a lead on who has the best deals?
Northern is a little high and thats where I've gotten mine before.
Thanks, Dan {salute}

The required 20k straps seem to be rare from my research...15k and 18k were as close as I found for about $35.00 to $40.00 then they jumped up to the 60 and 70$$$ range....
I will maintain the search though!

Whew, looking at the prices on some of these, you'd be only a hundred dollars away from getting a winch.

Don't get one with metal hooks on the end.  They have some with and some without at the local parts stores.

I do have one but it's a 15k and stats for the club say minimum I believe is 20K...
I do have a winch but compliance calls for the strap too I believe.

Yeah...thats what they all seem to be going for.....
Oh well, I will just do it and remember that it's better to have it and NOT need it than to need it and NOT have it! {boohoo} {no}..... ;D

Dan, I agree with Richard, if your strap is in good shape and not frayed and no metal hooks, don't worry about it. The 2" that I use most of the time is probably a 15,000 strap.

Not the strap you were asking about, but a good deal on a recovery kit that includes it - http://www.quadratec.com/products/92109_2200_07.htm

Thats a pretty good deal there.......I may just get that kit!
Mine is about 3 to 4 years old , not torn up but think that it should be used as a second choice...I can't see risking the safety of people for a simple strap!

Thanks for the link...I will order Sat. {salute}
