ok so what you posted has to do with lawn mower engines.. and if you read what you posted it says that to get the better MPG and HP you would need a bigger engine.. also terrain is about the same.. maybe its the high ground.. ya know the fact that Iowa is like 1200ft above sea level... or so shit like that....

Iowa is also very flat compared to GA.

Not to call you out Mike, but the chemistry does not add up for better MPG with more Ethanol.

If you get a Mileage difference between here and home it is likely due to a difference in terrain.

You misunderstood the link I posted, it stated that though Ethanol has the ability to produce more horsepower, it is consumed at a higher rate. What applies to small engines also applies to larger engines.

Ben hit the nail on the head with what I was getting at with the terrain difference, and I brought it up because I have noticed a fairly significant mpg difference in my vehicles between Statesboro and Taylorsville. Some how I get better Mileage when I'm not traveling up and down hills all of the time.

You're original post was asking what was wrong with Ethanol and I simply showed you the facts of what I have seen in regards to it.

A few weeks ago, I was buying the 10% ethanol mix and have since switched back to the 100% gas and I have noticed a big difference in mpg. I think I lost around 3-4 mpg's on the 10% ethanol mix.

I think yall just use your good corn in Iowa for gas, we save ours for liquor. {toast} Good corn-good mileage or good corn-good liquor, I'll just get some diesel and a bottle of Apple Jack. ;D
