Need a D300 T-case

I'd like the idea of a doubler, but someone did remind me that the rear driveshaft would be about 8" long. Wouldn't hat be a bad thing? Oh, BTW, I just so happen to have a brand new SYE kit for a 231.... came in my lift kit, but I've got the 242 select trac.
