Help me find a great zj or xj
« on: September 22, 2010, 08:05:18 PM »
Well I think I have a buyer lined up for my H3.  I am looking hard for a good zj or xj.  I would like something that still has nice interior since I will be daily driving it for at least a year or two.  I'm kind of trying to stay in the 3K-8K range depending on miles, mods, condition.  Since I am going to be driving quite a bit from our new location, I'd prefer a 4.0 or 5.2.  4x4 required of course.

I was about to hop on a plane and pick this beast up until the owner told me it only gets 11-12MPG:  http://www.mallcrawlin.com/forum//showthread.php?t=22769.  Badass zj though.

That GC was in our campground in Moab this year and it is BEAUTIFUL.  Sounds like reasonable MPG's to me.

Good luck with the hunt.

What can I expect out of a 4.0 xj with 33s or a 4.0 zj with 33s?

In one way I'm glad you didn't, if the thing gave you issue's later I would feel bad. {toast} I would think as long as you regear you should be in the mid-teens at least. Good luck on the sale, I know you will be happier once you get back in a Jeep. ;D
