Getting in shape 2011

Sasquatch:
I'm joining the fun on this years thread.

I got a wake up call during a doctors visit in December.  I'm on the path for adult onset Diabetes.

My instructions were to stay away from white flour, lose weight, and increase my cardio.

I'm 5'11" and weighed 218lbs.

I've replaced my white bread and rolls with wheat or whole grain.  Also I've been buying wheat pasta and tortillas.  I'm doing a poor job reducing my caloric intake.  I'm good for a few days then blow it for a week.

I'm hanging at about 212lbs now.  I'm terrible about working out in a gym.  I have a mental block when it comes to lifting weights.  However I've been a soccer player my whole life so I'm in the process of finding a decent team or two and some pickup games.  I had been 205lbs and dropped down to 190lbs just before meeting my wife.  All that took was caloric reduction and soccer 3 times a week.  I lost that 15lbs in about 6 weeks.  But over the course of the last 3 years and the addition of a wife and child I gained nearly 30lbs.

My target weight is 185lbs.  I think if I play soccer 3 times a week and reduce my caloric consumption to 1800 I should hit that mark by September.

Just watch your energy level when you cut calories. Try to get most of them from protien and good carbs. Good luck! I am 5'10 211lbs now and run all the time. But I am eating 9 eggs a day and I don't cut out yolks... {ehm} I want in the 190's...

Finally started feeling better. Ran two miles this morning & felt like crap & winded the whole time.

I am having issues being motivated here latley. Hopefully i can use these 2 days off and nice weather to kick start it. Maybe set the weight bench back up in the garage

ghostdancer308:
