My bad memory
« on: February 04, 2011, 02:01:38 PM »
I saw or read someplace a couple of weeks ago about these straps to tie down a co2 tank. I should have written it down because now I can't remember the name. Can anyone help.
Thanks
Eric

Haven't seen those.  I am only aware of brackets.  I wouldn't want my 20# tank on straps.  I have a Velcro strap holder for my fire extinguisher.

If I can find them again I'll show you. They are made for tieing down tanks.

Are you laying it on it's side to tie it down or keeping it upright?  Also, what size tank?

Don't know yet but I do know the quick fist are to small so I guess I need to find something like a fire extinguisher (sp) mount.
I have a #20 tank.

Get a good bracket so it doesn't become a danger to you or your passengers..

I have a Powertank bracket but there is a cheaper one out there as well.

Your best bet is to look for a set of nitrous bottle brackets and find a way to mount the tank vertical.  You cannot use a C02 tank on its side and it will be a pain to remove a 20lb tank every time you want to air up.  Here was the setup in my Cherokee and I could air up every corner with a 20' hose.  I will be soon replicating the setup in my 4 Runner.
