Help on jk problem
« on: August 25, 2011, 02:48:59 PM »
So I hear an exhaust leak on the jeep. Those that have seen it has heard it to. I took it back today and they say everything is normal. I have seveal years experience working on cars and in shops and know what the sound is. What do I do now that the dealership says it's normal?

Ps it has 800 miles on it and has done it since day one but never realized it until I was near another jk.

Richard, pull the left side inner fender, bet you will see it. Left side manifold is where Livingstons was leaking. Can't remember if it was cracked under the heat shield or not.

Have some guy crawl under with you to find it. Mileage seems way wrong. A stock TJ gets 15 atleast.
I've grown tired of this.

Mileage seems low.  The dash says I'm getting 18, but then again I haven't been doing any burnouts!

Yeah I have done burnouts in this one yet. Im thinking it something with the 2011 model.  {ehm} Just doesnt make sense we are on tank number 4 for 872 miles.  The mpg thing says 13.8. My wallet says 10mpg. The dealer here is a joke I told him I had an exhaust leak he stuck his head by the tire and said yeah I hear it. When we looked at the service order it said we had a popping in the front end. I was like no wonder the tech couldnt find an exhaust leak. But at the same time they said there was no problem with the front end. Am I the only one that see's a problem here?

I didn't even know you got a JK man.  If you just bought it from the dealer then make them fix it. Make a scene if you have to. You know what you're talking about, and they will try their best to get out of the situation so you gotta tell them it's not a question and they have to fix the problem
