Picked up some trucks
« on: February 18, 2012, 08:19:10 PM »
Picked up a few things this weekend.

First stop was in Rockwell, NC for this gem

Then made the drive to Hartwell GA to stay the night at the lake house before getting up in the AM to go pick up this guy in Anderson, SC.

Taking a picture of my new truck, from my new truck  ;D

In about a month this picture will be completely opposite.

The Silverado is a 97 Z71 with a fresh crate motor and rebuilt tranny under warranty. It was steal for what I paid. All records all the way back to the window sticker. Have to finish up one guys front bumper then the Z71 will go under the knife. F250 has 99% of the parts I need for my SAS down to the brake lines, hi steer, rebuilt HP D60 and Sterling, tires, wheels, etc, etc. Once I part the truck out I hope to have no more then 2k in a full 1 ton swap with hydro assist.  {rtft}

All in all it was a successful trip. Was in the car on Friday for about 13 hours then another 4 this afternoon. The F250 BARELY fit on the Uhaul hauler but we made it home safe and have another yard ornament for the neighbors to gaze at, until it is moved into the junk yard

Damn bro, the inside of that truck is beautiful!! Is the width between frame horns the same width? If so, that's a weekend project to swap everything over! Good job man, a good SAS swap is always b/a  //CHAINSAW//

The spring perch center to center on my 60 is 36.5. I have to outboard the springs on the front frame horn and the rear hanger will be closer to the frame then if I had a 32.5 center to center. But the plan is to utilize as much as possible to keep it cheap and quick. My buddy is bringing me down some 37x12.50x16.5 BFG Baja M/T militarys with 90% tread for $595. Seem to have much better reviews then the previous Goodyear M/T

I was itching to do something to my truck today since I haven't had one since November, so I installed my Viair compressor and 5 gal tank in the tool box to ease my nerves. Can't decide if I want to install my horns or not.

The Z71 has an exhaust leak in the pipes. Gives me more reason to hurry up and get going on the swap since I have to modify the exhaust anyhow. Steering box is pretty worn feeling, so probably should go ahead and rebuild and tap for hydro assist. I have my good speakers and sub sitting around thats been waiting to get put in a truck that I plan to keep, so time to install those. Guess its time for a build thread...
