I dont have a single bug in my yard.

Probably because of the small army of chickens I have running around.

lol!  I'll take the bugs!

The eggs, meat, and pest control services make them worth it. Nothing else like it.

Meat?  lol.  My girls would never allow that!  haha.

Nothing like fresh farm eggs.  Do you feed them a shell hardener?

We have found a few more very small dead ticks that we believe have fallen off of the dog dead from the stuff we have on her that kills them if they bite her.

Yes meat. It tastes totally different than store bought chicken.

No, I dont feed them a shell hardener. Since my chickens are free range, they get the correct amount of calcium from their environment (bugs). The shells on my eggs in some cases are hard enough that you can drop them from 4 feet high and they wont break. Which ends up being a pain in the ass when your trying to crack them on a frying pan.

It takes a couple weeks to train them to stay 10 feet from the road and to hop in their cage at night, but its worth it.

How do you train a chicken?

They are smarter than most folks think.

And repetition. Lots of repetition.

Yeah, do you have an invisible fence and collar them until they stay out of the road?

How the hell do you train a chicken to stay away from the road?  Seems like Darwin will take care of the smart ones.

So the answer to why did the chicken cross the road is actually it just wasn't trained yet?  </BEER/>
