How to have a bad night - Free Safety Lesson

So this happened Saturday night....



Remember that no matter how far you are driving always fasten up, and don't double down on being an idiot by going fast.  Two rolls and a flip later..... Luckily me and the passenger walked away without serious injuries, but there is not a limb on my body that is not bruised and cut and my kidneys looked like Rocky Balboa used them as a punching bag.



Let this just serve as a reminder to everyone to not take safety for granted.

Cruising down a gravel road at night at around 30 mph. Halfway through a blind right hand sweeper when I see a deer standing in the road. Cut harder right to miss it (didn't want 150 lbs of venison smashing my face) and the left rear tire digs into soft shoulder and starts the roll. The Maverick ends up facing the opposite way on it's side, so we got at least a roll and a half along with a flip to face us the wrong way. Meanwhile we both get slung through the air and fight a losing battle with gravel.

Cage is tweaked pretty bad, two plastic panels are FUBAR'd, and I have either a cracked hub or hub bearing. Hopefully its not a bent axle since those are custom made for the Lone Star racing long travel kit and replacements are pricey. I'd be pretty surprised if it was bent though because the rears are 300M steel. Luckily most all the body panels were off it since am still in the process of refinishing them. Otherwise this would be much more expensive of a fix. All in all, for the large chain of stupid decisions leading up to this, all people and machines came out pretty well. Count this LESSON LEARNED
