Since this is an event I thought this was the best place for it. If not mods please move.
Sorry this is so LONG
Hunter Calvert is 12 years old. He suffers from multiple seizures a day. His parents and high school brother take turns in shifts to watch him and try to catch the seizures in time to give him his meds so they would not be so bad. These shifts are throught the whole day so someone needs to be awake with him while he sleeps to watch him.
The Calverts would love to get Hunter a seizure dog. This dog will help Hunter lead a more normal life and give his parents and brother some peice of mind. The dog can sense a seizure up to 20 minutes a head of time so that his parents, brother, or who ever is watching over him at that time get his medicine in him to stop or supress the seizure.
The down side is the dog plus his training is 18,000 dollars and is located in Central Texas. That price does not include the amount for air fare, hotels, meals, rental car, ect. that the parents will need on multiple trips there to get them trained with the dog and the dog used to Hunter.
So to help out Robinson Tire Co. in Calhoun, Ga is having a benefit called Hound for Hunter. 100% of the proceeds go to Hunter and his family for the dog. There will be a Silent Auction, Food, Music, and other ways that you can contribute so if you are not busy please come out and support Hunter and his Family.
I will also call them Monday to see if there is a way that people can contribute if they can not make it out or is to far.
