Hood Louvers

Hey just wondering has anyone put louvers on their jeep? and has it reduced the heat under your hood? I am thinking about doing it but would like some first hand input before I go cutting metal. I have found on other forums that it does help but more info is never a bad thing, thanks.

I went with the GenRight louvers. They did make a difference for sure!

It did when I was running a 350 but my 4.0s and 2.5s never had a problem.

I've researched it heavily in the past and found nothing but positive feedback. Definitely something I'm going to do if I ever get this other mound of parts installed.

that one looks mean but with my k&n filter I need the ones that don't go in the center of the hood so water don't go right down on it

Got the genrights on my TJ. never could see a temp difference, but you can feel it blowin out tge heat. Every little bit helps!

the temp guages on the tj are really dummy guages. They are accurate to a sence but to really see you need a better guage.

If you want cooler air to come into the engine then get a cowl induction. I forgot the guys name but he made them and sells them on rubicon owners forum. They have been tested by members and have actually gotten better mpg. The inside cab noise was increased slightly but the air conditions temps also was a little cooler too.

I thought about doing the cowl but not sure on either way yet just tryin to get info so I don't do it one way and wish I had done it different. I even thought about getting the small fan for the a/c off one of our junk Isuzu trucks and mounting it under the louvers, but that might be a bit much

I have been thinking about doing the Poison Spyder grill for the Jk. Just scared to cut hood.
