Recommend Goodyear Tires???

I won a set of any Goodyear tires for my JKU and I'm not sure what to get. Currently I have 35" Terra Grabblers.  Considering Goodyear Wrangler MTR w/ Kevlar.  Anyone have these and how do you like them. MPG is a major concern because I drive my Jeep everywhere including cross country trips.  With my current tires I get 16 mpg average. I have a set of Trail Grapplers MT and lucky to get 10 mpg with those. Also considering Goodyear Durtrac AT tires. Any suggestions?

I run the MTR kevlars in 35/12.50/17 and love them. I am on my second set. 1st set got over 45k on them and the offroad great.

Same tire in 37/1250/17's.

Had 40's on previous Jeep in same tire.

Absolutely love the all around performance and durability on and off road.

Won't get great mpg's when you run large and/or heavy rubber.

I like my MTR's but are you geared properly per the tire size. If you aren't that will bring the mileage back. I don't think my jeep would move if it got 10. My 250 does better than that.

They are a very heavy tire. I have them and they are great but heavy. Check the weights of tires on a site like tire rack. Even a few lbs make a huge difference when it comes to rotational weight.

I love my MT/R's and wouldn't trade them for another tire.

In the 37" variety they are the lightest out there...except for the KM2's but they are much smaller.

Man maybe I miss read! I thought I read the MTR was 67 lbs in a 35. Several all terrain tires I looked at were less, like in the 50's. that's something to consider if you want mpg. Or just do like I did and go buy a car

There's something to be said to having separate tires for DD and offroad use.  Using a lighter wheel for the DD can help too.

Thanks for all the help and advise.  Yes I have regeared to 5.13 and have done every engine mod I have heard of like cold air intake, a viper throttle body and a Hypertech programmer.  I get better gas mileage than most considering I run AT's most of the time.  I have a set of MT's for just offroad use but I have used my AT's in Moab and they ran great.  That's why I am worried about MPG, i drive it long distances.  Guess I hoping that since the tires had Kevlar in them they would be a lot lighter.  Yes weight is everything when you consider MPG.  But it's a Jeep not a hybrid.  Anyone know of a site that will give you a comparison of tire weights?

AT's work great in Moab with more rubber on the rock and no mud in sight so cleaning is not required.  More of a mix for us.

I think u have to chase down all the individual tire weights on the respective manufacturer sites.

How many options do you have with the Hypertech?  I love my Super Chips 97 octane program on 37's and 4.10's, but clearly 5.38's will be better.  Getting 14.5 mpg now.

Hypertech has a lot of options. They send out updates that you can download off the net so they are constantly adding more.  I heard a rumor that the people that own Superchips bought Hypertech.
