Kevin, thanks for the info. It is being considered for sure. Camping would be sketchy for me out there. No way I would do it.
I've grown tired of this.

Racoon Mountain campground is just a couple miles down the road and its cheap. Me and Daniel stayed there a few years back.

Quick dumb question: is there any other entrance other than the subdivision? I just hate drawing that much attention.

On the flipside maybe I should buy a house there...

There is another entrance on the back side of the peanut butter hole. We call it Bowater Tree.

that looks like a fun play, i would be up to going, if its legal.

It's perfectly legal to ride up there. It's just the subdivision entrance thats always in contention. They've tried to stop people from going up that way for years but every court has shot it down. Seems the Richey Rich crowd dont want muddy tire tracks on their paved road.

Can you really blame them though? They should not have built a subdivision with a public road running through the center

I was actually shocked at how many trailers there was when we left.
It was good to see that many familys out there with the kids.

To me that is the PERFECT place for everyone. The stockers can ride,
along side the hard core rigs. When you get to the different rock ledges
you decide if you want to play or watch. There is no pressure to try something.
It's not like some place's where your in line then when it's your turn you say oh
shit what do I do. You can clearly see what your up against.

Its definitely a unique place.  Lots could be done with it if it was an offroad park.

Kevin, can u send me a link to a google map marking where that entrance is, just in case we need it one day?  I only knew of the subdivision and the Werock lease.
Why doesn't everyone use the one behind the PB hole?

I don't blame them for being upset at mud in the road.  Everybody should clean the tires best they can but there really is no way to there if the outlet road is muddy since it is just dirt up to the pavement.

Story I've read is land is half private owner that lets folks ride and half tn land dept, and they have been trying to do a land swap and get it all to close it.

Love Racoon Mtn. Went there a few years ago for a long camping weekend!! Definitely wouldn't mind staying there for the night if this ride makes the calendar line up.

Doug, the only drawback to the Bowater Tree entrance is the fact you have to go thru a small tunnel to get there. It's barely wide enough for a vehicle. A trailer with a rig on it wont make it thru. People come up there thru it with atv and sxs trailers dont have a problem. The trailer queens use thw public entrance or the Werock lease to get out there.

Sounds PERFECT for my ridiculously narrow rover. 60" wide with the mirrors folded in  ;D
