RedDragonATL:
Had fun til I broke ANOTHER front axle. Oh, well. Wish the rain had stayed away, but was nice to see some new trails. Got the axle swapped out yesterday. Took the broken one in for warranty swap. He asked, as I showed him the exploded cage, how'd that happen? Dunno, man...just happened.

Me and blue Wes where talking about how you where going to explain a broken axle. We had the perfect story for you, if you needed one. Glad it worked out for you though.

I was wondering if they (NAPA) would give me any grief, but they did not.  Seems if you wheel it hard and have an ARB front locker, like I do, which basically creates a spool when engaged, those outside CV joints are prone to fail especially when drooped or when the wheel is turned.  The one that broke Saturday was a NAPA reman axle.  The one I swapped it for is a new NAPA MaxDrive axle.  So, we'll see how this one holds up.  Would love to start planning a straight axle swap, but won't have that kinda cash for a while, I don't think.  ToyTec makes a $500 upgraded, beefier CV I might try next, or go back to OEM ($400 or so, I think).

Had my camera and did not take 1 picture.  Good to see everyone and meet some of the new guys!

BlueJew:
Glad they swapped it out and got it squared away.  Could the problem be alleviated by limiting the flex that your IFS front has?  I had a Liberty with the IFS and it could not be lifted too much without major changes or the solid axle swap due to the CV joints and the limited angle of operation.  I know it seems counter intuitive but it might help you wheel more than a few hours with us!!!  I really want to see what your rig can do but i never get the chance!

Trail Duty:
Looks like you guys had a blast! Looks like I may have to join CORE so I can get in on more rides  ;D . Can't wait for the next ride. Is the calendar of scheduled rides for next year available yet?  {letseat}
