Title: Mrs Uncle Randy (Aunt Brenda) needs prayer
Post by: Uncle Randy on May 03, 2020, 06:57:11 PM: My wife of over 48 years spent 11 days in Northside Braselton Hospital starting on April 15 due to sodium at dangerously low level. Diagnosis was fractured bone in pelvis, (probably from a fall she had), heart failure and stage 2 small cell lung cancer which has spread to the area between the lungs (left media stynum). She is supposed to start chemo on the 11th (week from tomorrow-Monday). Chemo lasts 12 weeks with her going 3 days a week every 3 weeks. Recovery rate with chemo is 20%. If you feel comfortable praying for her healing, we appreciate it more than you will ever know and thank you very much. Count your blessings. Every day is precious.

They doped her up with morphine for pain. She tried to escape at 4 one morning and fought the attendants. They had to restrain her. She's still not back to herself. But she is getting a little better every day, which is encouraging. I need some rest. Stay safe.

Post by: Uncle Randy on May 23, 2020, 08:07:15 PM: Just saw this request for an updae. Petscan showed cancer spots in multiple bones. She has metastasized lung cancer. Can't do radiation now since that is area specific. Oncologist said it's not curable but chemo can stop the spread. She had first rounds of chemo and immunotherapy on May 11, 12 and 13 through a port they put in her chest. She has two weeks off and will have same treatments on June 2, 3 and 4. Chemo wiped her out and she is very fatigued and is sleeping a lot. Went to cardiologist last thursday and he took her off of heart med due to low bp. It's running between 82/50 and 90/60 most days. Blood press is not coming up but hope fully it will climb in the next few days. Her outlook is not too good but she's trying to hang in there. She has had to use a walker since getting out of the hospital (April 26). My awesome daughter Jennifer Clark has been helping us a lot by bringing food, and general housework when she can. She's in doctorate school and has four kids and a husband. We are praying. Thank you for asking.
