Title: COPPINGER COVE : JULY 18TH photo's
Post by: jd30005 on July 18, 2015, 10:54:10 PM
Delay on the pictures. There was absolutely zero cell coverage all day (the way it should be). Awesome place. Here are a couple pics.

It looks like Marie is telling a fish story... "I promise you, the Sunfish was this big if it was an inch.  I swear."

Looks fun. Is it a single trail to the cove?

The trails are over 30 miles!!

This place is a definite winner in my book. There are trails for everyone. We kept it pretty tame because we were trying to see two of the bigger caves and they weren't to close together. We kept it moving pretty quick all day and saw a lot cool scenery. The caves were killer. Our guide (Pete) said he walked 6 hours exploring one of the smaller caves and it never came to an end.
The rivers are awesome too! Definitely gives a "Colorado" type feeling. We could have wheeled up the river all day and i would have been happy!

Can'twait to go back!

Next trip I will have :
- Water shoes
- Bigger lunch
- More gas
- Better flash light
We could have rode for several more hours and I wasn't prepared for that.

Was there any issue of lower sitting rigs and deep water?

Any strange noises in river?

Very cool!  It's always nice to have more places close enough for a day trip.

Watching too many river monsters shows? :)

Seriously though - anyone who wants to go from the group who didn't get to for one reason or another - we need to schedule a makeup.  That looks awesome!!
Let's schedule a make up ride

My wife wants to go now, we're in for another trip. Definitely a great place for a fall ride! Just let me know when.
And we will want to call Pete for sure!

There are a few camp sites that Tom set up by the river if anyone wants to camp too.

When we decide to do a make up ride, there are cabins and camping at the Trials Training Center too - http://trialstrainingcenter.com/accommodations/ (http://trialstrainingcenter.com/accommodations/)

had a great time riding with everyone this is for sure going to be a place I want to go back to more a few of us went up a trail after the stair steps in the water and man that thing was nasty. going down in the cave was pretty crazy too. from what pete said when we just need to check weather conditions for the rain fall so we know the conditions of the river depending on the size rigs that will be coming. I'll try to get the pics marie got up tonight

ya the one to the left you have to bypass the hole its way to deep for the average jeep. I take it you have been up it ?

Yes, drove Randys RanRyn Jeep up it.  Clutch was killing me and I scratched his new gas tank skid lol.  Beat us to death.  Later that day I fell in a creek bed pulling cable for somebody on a huge boulder, and messed up my knee for a year.  Top heavy is no good.

That was a good one.  Anybody get any pics from that trail?  Thanks for the spot @jd30005  I was going to give you a spot but just found myself walking backwards as you walked each rock.  And the rocks are all smaller now after @Kennisau bashed them with the tank.

Some pictures my passenger got. Unfortunately, I forgot the battery for my camera on the way out of the house that morning. If I can figure it out, I have a couple short videos I can post.
