Do we know if the camping area by the pavilion is already reserved for that weekend?  That was awesome last time.

Well it doesn't look like I will be able to make this trip due to work commitments.  I had made a reservation for a Bunk House room for the nights of 9/3, 9/4, 9/5

Before I call to cancel it, I wanted to post here to see if anyone is interested in taking it and I can call them to have it transferred. $65 a night.  Details on the bunk rooms are here - http://www.goldenmountainpark.com/bunks/ (http://www.goldenmountainpark.com/bunks/)

If you're interested, PM me.  I plan to cancel it tomorrow, Tue.

I won't be able to make this ride due to my daughters birthday stuff being planned for this weekend now.  I have a bunk room as well that I can transfer.  I believe Marc @ranier1315 wants it?

For those interested, you can buy the Golden Mountain ORV map from CartoTracks here : https://www.cartotracks.com/golden_mountain_park_map

And then download the Avenza PDF map app.

With those two things on your smartphone, you can navigate the park with the map and you will be shown as a dot on the map just like  any nav system.

I won't be camping Sunday night but would like to get some extra wheeling in on Sunday before leaving.

But I have to fix both the tow rig and the Toyota between now and then.

What I read is that you have to download the map and app with a good connection but after that it runs on your phone GPS.  Is that not the way it works?

I used this app last year in the Vermont Overland trip and we did not need a cell connection, it simply used the internal GPS on the iOS device to show you as a blue dot on the map.  Worked great!

Near the pavilion, but be careful how close you get to it and the water.   Parties are held next to each side of the pavilion.

Finally fixed my Moab issue (exh backpressure valve) plus exhaust up pipes and a ported compressor housing while I had the turbo out.  First time it's been out and don't want to have to do it again anytime soon. I hope this gets my MPG back.

If you do, they are an arm and a leg.

No kidding!  I missed out on the deal of the century a few years ago and still regret it. A friend of mine posted his on FB and it sold in less than 45 min

The pipes are stock from International 7.3, no performance but they seal better than the gaskets that Ford used.  One of my up pipes was leaking at the gasket so some exhaust pressure was escaping prior to reaching the turbo.

The rest are not stock but not really any performance parts. The exhaust adapter has a smooth bore and eliminates the sticking valve I had. The compressor housing is from ATS and I am hoping it will eliminate the turbo surge I had when towing under heavy throttle.

Cant wait for a weekend of camping with the weather cooling off.

Before ordering the wrench I looked up the size information for a 1.25" jam nut and ended up with 1 7/8" (https://www.engineersedge.com/hex_nut.htm).  There is surprisingly little forum information about the size wrench needed for a 1.25" jam nut.

I wonder if the ruff stuff jam nuts (1.75") are slightly smaller than standard jam nuts (1.875").  I didn't have an eighth of play in the wrench/nut, to the best of my knowledge.

I saw a basic (relatively speaking) jeep doing it, but it looked like he didn't find the same boulders that are in the ones with the buggies.  The 7+ minute buggy one is what turned me away

Like a lot of trails/obstacles at Golden, the wetness would have a huge effect on that one.  Probably near impossible when muddy.

Who is going to run Honey Bee with me?

Not familiar w that trail. Got pics or a description?

That's the worse part of it. It's a whole hill of boulders that come to that point. There are exits before that one spot that get into a pretty technical spot again to the right. Same trail Doug, Tony, Jay, Matt M, and me did if they remember that on late Saturday afternoon.

I thought Wes and I tried it, but bailed after beating the crap out of our vehicles.  Is this the one on the left side, near moon rock (or something like that)?

I'll have some beer (of course!), but I'm probably going to focus on Maker's Mark and soda.  Tent camping and having to unload the bladder every two hours during sleep due to beer consumption, sucks.
