Title: BGE Stacked Grill Grate
Post by: BeerIAm on July 27, 2017, 11:07:21 AM
I need to smoke a bunch of chicken breasts for an event this weekend and was trying to find an option to add another level of grates to my BGE.  I have a medium egg (which is part of the problem).  I looked around and have seen stacked grate options for larger sizes but not the medium.  Anyone seen / used anything?

Worst case I just take the day off tomorrow and grab bunch of beer and charcoal and grill all day.  Actually, not a bad option.

So is that a medium Egg or large? Using what size grate on lower shell? Awesome idea!

Just make sure that you do not use galvanized bolts.

That was just an online pic to share the concept since I don't know if I have any good pics on my phone. Mine is a large and the grate size is a little smaller than the main grate, but don't remember dimension.

Good point.  Which ones would you recommend?  Stainless?

JRay thanks for the idea.  I think this might work on the medium with a 14" grate on top.  Could've gotten shorter bolts but about to give it a go.
