Hey y’all! My one and only key was locked inside my 2007 Wrangler this morning! Any tips on using a slim Jim or wire hanger to unlock?? Thanks in advance!

Dang that sucks. Hopefully you’ve got into by now but it’s hard to give advise just by typing. I’ve been able to enter tons of vehicles over the years but just takes “feel”. Where are you located? I have balloons and wedges that help tremendously

In Snellville (GA). My husband wasn’t able to fanagle the wire hanger downward because of the bars. I just called a locksmith - fingers crossed it won’t be an arm and a leg!

It’s not cheap but probably the best route. I’m in Dacula if y’all ever need anything

Do yourself a solid & get a hide a key. They are lifesavers.

I looked into that, but haven’t done it because purchasing a 2nd key is pretty expensive. However, after paying a locksmith I may see spending money in a second key a good investment! Ha!

The hide a key should be a non chipped key & only work on the locks. It should not start it, in case someone besides you find it.
If available, you can usually get them at your local home improvement store.

Soft top will also solve that.

I didn’t realize there were lock-only keys — good info to know!

I don’t think you’ll regret it. Very nice during the warm months.

They are not. It's just a normal, non chipped key that may happen to work in your lock. If you try & start the car with this key it can fry the computer. This is the reason Wal Mart stopped selling them.
I got one for my truck to unlock the tailgate while the engine is running. You have to wiggle the key slightly to lock it. If you unlock the door with it, the alarm goes off. But I have a keypad.

I’ll definitely check into it. Thanks

Very welcome. Good luck. They are sub $5. The chipped keys are silly expensive.

I put mine on in the warm months and then never took it off.
