I’ve always thought that the best gifts are gift cards. That way it takes all the guess work out of figuring out what people want. I don’t get an actual “gift” unless i know 110% it is what they want.

This. We hate wasting $ and receiving gifts we don't want it have a user for, so we need a link to the item or they are getting cash. I hate there is no surprise but is far better that a wasted opportunity.
There are always some surprises for the wife and kids.

We make everyone have an amazon wish list so you can just buy from the link. You can add stuff to your list that isn't from the site if you download some plugin through amazon

This^^^^. Works great. You can make your lists public, or add people to them as “users” who can add items. Love it, takes the guess work out and cash is always an option.

I prefer to listen to people throughout the year, pitcsome thiught into it and get them gift that like. Not as easy, but we’ll worth it

This is what my wife does. She takes notes on her phone and always gets the best gifts for people.
Me on the otherhand...total opposite. I suck at buying gifts. Lucky I have her on my side
