Sounds like a good day ride. I haven't been to Beasley in forever, I'd love to go back!

You're not done? Are you on the same schedule as Jay for jeep repairs?

Mines a little more involved than Jays. Hopefully be up and running by the end of the weekend.

I’m in for Beasley , I live 20 min away. FYI, Tray mt is closed. ( chimney mountain side)
-
At this point I probably won't hit anything else
waiting on Colorado.....
but
I haven't been in years.... so I might be interested.
-
I just might be able to make it. I will be in the area and one of the jeeps needs to get out of the garage.

Your favorite spot. Haha

So how challenging is Beasley Knob? I have never been there and don’t know what to expect.

Stay away from 93b unless your locked and on 37’s, otherwise you should be fine
-
93b is fine as long as you like very steep hills
I'd say 33s minimum & locker front & rear.
-
I’d be in for a day ride as well. Never been

Honesty, it's pretty boring excect for 93b & the trail to the right if it, at least the 20 yards. Some might need a winch.
The rest is pitiful at least this was from my experience 2 years ago.

You must not have been these in a loooong time.

We hit 93b two years ago when I was on 37s and it was really tough. Justin Davis crawled right up in his lj. Bj Satterfield had to leave early for some reason

i was up about a the end of last summer and it is one of the only trails with any challenge, not "the" only one. It is almost all super steep hills, but 93b has been graded and changed all the way to the top. We were with a small group, mostly over 37s, me and one more were the only ones that made it past the first few little rock gardens, after spending over an hr trying the rest turned around and headed to find easier stuff. They have made it a series of rock gardens increasing in size and difficulty, then it turns straight up the mountain and gets pretty knarly. Say what you will, but dont knock it till you try it, its worth a day trip just for the one trail.
-
93b was always a challenge. Depending on level of moisture. Had no idea they graded it. It was really bad the last time GATR rode there. But that was probably 4 years ago.

I may have to go see what's changes since they screwed (graded) it up.
It was nothing more than dirt roads the last time we went. 93b had 2 or 3 small rock slabs/stair steps.
The only other part of the place worth trying was at the top & to the right or 93b. It was nasty looking. We didn't try it cause we were solo.

That was probably where danny flipped the old xj.

So 33s, 3.5 lift, and a stock JK driveline would have problems from what y’all say. Are there bypasses if I can’t do the rocks?

I was at Beasley a few weeks ago with a group of 7, stock to mild/medium builds. We were only there a few hours so we didn't do the whole park nor did we do 93b. The biggest problem we had was oncoming traffic. The trails are narrow and not always a place to pull off. With that said it was very dry. Can't imagine some of the hills it were very wet.

I will be at the Home Depot at 8:30 am on Sat. leaving around 9:15 5/26
The Home Depot is off of 515 which is a main road that is just a few min down the road from the entrance.
17 GA-515, Blairsville, GA 30512 (Home Depot address)
Channel 7 cb and the Gar channel 1 on the Race Radio. (using Wes's programming).
As long as the weather is good. Just wanting to go up for an easy day of light wheeling.

Should be good to go. Just watch the weather and closures. Hope to have the Jeep running by tomorrow.

I'm in for a Saturday ride if the weather looks good. It's showing rain all the way through next weekend as of now

there is only a handfull of places you will have problems, but there are no bypasses to any of it unless you go all the way around the mountain. Cmon up, im sure there will be plenty of GATR folks to help out if necessary.

I heard they graded all these trails? Is that not the case?
-

they grade them every few years because the mountain is so steep and the runoff is pretty much unstoppable. Not much has changed, but they made 93b much better if anything.
-
Well the Jeep is all together again so unless something comes up I am in for this ride.
-
not sure this ride will happen with all the rain we have had. Make sure to check the park closures.
-
Beasley knob is closed.

i would call. they are very poor at updating the website, not saying it isnt, but the number is your best bet. It came a flood here Tuesday night, but was really nice yesterday, so there is no telling what the weather is gonna do.
-
I just called and Beasley is closed due to wet weather.

If I get my trailer finished, I plan to head over to Morris on Saturday.

Anybody up for a daytrip to chocco Saturday if it's not a complete washout? I'd be down for wheeling in the rain there as long as it's not a torrential downpour

Regardless of the closure I amy just head up north somewhere with the wife and do some forestry road wandering. Not 100% set on it but weather is a factor.
