POLL CLOSES SUNDAY 8/6 AT NOON
We are trying something different this year and our August ride will be decided by you! With a limited selection of parks within close proximity and with something for everyone, we wanted to provide some options that met those criteria and are also not on the 2023 Ride Calendar.
The Members' Choice ride will be August 11th - 13th. Please select the park you're most interested in visiting. For those on TapaTalk, the choices are Gulches, Coalmont, and River Rock. You'll need to visit the GATR forum online to vote.
Coalmont is a newer park that apparently allows access into other parts of what is known as Coppingers Cove. We may need someone familiar with the area to assist with accessing those areas. https://www.coalmontohvpark.com/ (https://www.coalmontohvpark.com/)
River Rock is open all weekends for the remainder of the year. https://riverrockoffroadpark.com/ (https://riverrockoffroadpark.com/)
Most are likely familiar with Gulches. https://www.gulchesorvpark.com/ (https://www.gulchesorvpark.com/)

I won't vote since I'm not sure I can make that weekend, but both Riverrock and Gulches are great for a day trip and I will try to make it out that Saturday with my 6 year old
-
River Rock said they will be open every weekend through the end of the year so we are good there

Yea, they have a big open field

I've not been there , but I hear from those who have that the trails are poorly mapped and marked. Can anyone confirm ?

It's not a big park so having a map is not really needed.

I haven’t been to RR since my first stint with GATR back in 2007 or 2008. It seemed great back then but I was on 31s and the “big tire” guys 35s. I believe this is Will in front of me when he, Livingston, and I decided to go out Sunday morning and got stuck as we could get.

Livingston is a blast from the past.

First and only roll over was at River Rock on 37's
August camping in millageville is the pits. You better have lots of bug screen, air conditioner, cool blankets. I wouldn't be surprised if its in the 80's at night. And if the field where you camp is the same, its a big dust cloud. But I haven't been in 20 years.

Yep that about sums it up! Also super sloppy if it’s rained in the past 5 days
This was about 20 years ago at RR. The obstacle right off the parking lot IIRC

So if it’s dry it sucks and if it’s wet it sucks.
You guys are a bunch of buzzkills.

It was one of my favorite places back in the day. Everything outside in Ga sucks in August

Coalmont is super tame if your ride is locked front and rear and on anything bigger than 33's. You will have to hit the Cove to find anything to do besides leaf look.
-
I didn’t vote because I’m not sure I can make it but I’m trying.
Did you guys decide anything?
Are people going on this ride?

Let’s say the poll will close tomorrow at noon and then I will post the checkin thread.
