NICE ;D

EDIT: Will, there is a fresh '79 Bronco at the Augusta Pull-A-Part. Anybody know if all Broncos are 4wd? I think the 79s have cast on wedges though.

Yep, cast on wedges. 76-77 F-100/150 are the trucks you want to find. Those are the ones with disk brakes and weld on wedges.

Hey Will, you should find a Scout 44 then do a D300 swap. Get a Super 88 kit with some spacers and BAM! Stronger front axle, stronger transfer case, stronger rear axle, and stronger lug pattern.

Good lord you've done some research  :D

May be a little more work than I have time for this summer because I've already got a lot lined up; Roll cage, tube fenders, gears... What's the width on all those oldies 44s? There's gotta be a chart out there somewhere. I haven't done much research on them.

I think the point of the 44 is that he won't have to borrow axle shafts anymore.

Nah, I meant Morris Mountain. I guess I'm a little excited about that trip.

I've wheeled on that smaller u-joint about 3 times. It will be fine until I start bouncing the front or bumping ledges hard. I'm getting pretty good at knowing what will break a dana 30 shaft. I haven't, however, broken one with the 35s on. I haven't really hammered down on them yet though. This is really their maiden voyage since I didn't even disconnect or try much at River Rock last time cause I didn't have my bumpstops set... let's just say it's not looking good for them. I'm gonna try to keep it easy cause I don't have a spare at the moment, and they're getting harder to find. If I do break one I'll just roll with the 'ol stub shaft and shop rag oil seal again until I can find one.  {letseat}

If I had not worked on my today, and locked the shop I would think someone stole my stuff.

Buy those Jimmy and lets throw them under the XJ.

I'd love to. Hopefully I can find something like that this summer when I am working more and didn't just spend $600 on text books I will use for 4 months! I wonder what I could get for my current axles....

Dude, I'm not gonna buy textbooks at all this semester and see how that goes  :D

I just can't spend that kind of money....   and still buy Jeep parts  ;D

Granted, you are an engineer student and probably live out of those books.  :-\

Yessir. The first time I took Thermo, it was during a May-mester, I bought a book on Amazon and it never came. I ended up making a 23 on the first test and having to withdraw since I hadn't done any of the homework :-/

Anyway, back on topic...found a 44 yet?

Hollywood had one for sale, no brackets, $100.

There is a large Jeep graveyard in Statesboro.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, out past the airport, the guy wants an arm and a leg for anything. If anyone wants me to keep an eye out for anything at the yards down here, I'll be searching them for spare axle shafts and parts to piece together a lift kit in the near future.

Which Highway? The only one I can think of by the highway is on the left if you're taking 301 north and they don't have too many vehicles over about 10 years old there.

I have a friend up here in Murphy who has a Dana 44 (pass drop) from a mid 70's Wagoneer that he wants to sell.  He bought it to replace the 30 in the front of his CJ, then changed his mind.  I think he wants around $150.00 for it.

i'm sure this isn't really an option but i do know of a place that will sell one for 40.00 (80.00) drivers drop.  there's a place in NC, it's a u-pull-it all you can carry for 40.00 on saturdays.  reason i mention 80.00 above is because it would take two people to carry across the scales.  always has wagoneers.

In your hunt if you find spares that your not going to purchase let me know. I thought I would go chromoly shafts and keep the stock ones for spares, but I can't make myself get off the wallet for them yet. The 60 has chromoly in it and I have one stock spare, I guess I could use a second spare for it also.
