The reason we use a tow strap loops at the end instead of hooks is because:

If it breaks, those hooks/chain links become flying projectiles and can hurt any bystander.  Besides, tow straps work just as good.

Dont let that be the only thing that keeps you from riding. Someone usually has a strap or winch with them. We just prefer that if our strap breaks its while pulling our own vehicle  :D

I have question about the rules.  Does a two way radio work for the CB.  I have Motorola two way with a 22 mile range and it works good.  Will that work on a club ride?

Thanks
Lee

as long as someone with a cb has the other 2way, that can keep you informed

Everyone on the trail needs to have a CB.  It's a GATR requirement, as it is with most every club, and everyone has time to get one.

It's our  primary means of communication on the trail.  It's used to tell you where we're headed, where we are, directions, trail information, and most importantly is used for safety.   Others around you, in front of and behind you, can see what you cannot, and often the CB is the best way to communicate the info.

Everyone should show up with a CB.  Even if it's a portable.

And then you get told "you must like them rear ends"   {nln}

Here is an example of why we have a cb.  Everyone was following Will into the mud pit when the train stopped and decided to back up.  I slid off the edge of the road and I was headed to the ditch which would have been bad.  Doug was behind me yelling on the CB,  "DO NOT MOVE MIKE, WE WILL HOOK UP THE STRAP".   ;D {hihi} {salute}..  It also makes for a boring day when you have to wonder what is going on....

you definitely don't want to miss out on the mindless banter on the cb that transpires during a ride.

trust me.

I think I am the only one who can translate it. It's a gift.

Ah...well I'd complain.  Of all the things someone could've been given, it's the gift of translating "Charlie Brown" talk.

Well, you must've taken that course up recently cause I haven't known  you that long.  Which means, you took enough interest to go out of your way to learn something for me.  That's sweet Ben..

I just want to make sure I understand.  My motorola radio will pick up 22 different channels.  I can hear other people when they talk on thier CB's and I can talk to them.  So what is different in a CB and my radio.  I will still be able to hear everyone on the CB's and they can hear me.  It is that same as the CB.  The CB may have more channels.

That is fine. As long as it communicates with a CB, then your all good.

Check and see if you can talk with a cb on channel 7.
