No camping at the event. They do have a campground not to far down the road that people reserved sites at

JeepFest was fun last year. The organizers will be looking for local clubs to help volunteer in certain areas like trails or the obstacle courses. GaTR will be involved.

We will have the easy up by then and I have no issues running a "booth" to promote the club. Flyers, business cards, stickers... We can park some rigs at the booth flexed out. Would be cool.

One thing clubs could do to make the fest better is provide some experience spotters on the obstacle course. It's not as much fun as leading the rides, but from what I saw last year is something needed.

that is one of the upgrades that we talked about last year. Spotters on the course will end up going one of two ways, they will either put better more experienced folks out there....or none at all.

I was there last year and had a good time hanging out. I will have a jeep to play around on the obstacle course with this year. I will be in the Alpha Vinyl tent most the time I am sure.

I registered today. Now I just have to figure our where to stay. We stayed in a hotel in Canton last year, but if the wife and kids are up for it we may camp or try to find a little cabin nearby. The hotel options in Jasper are pretty limited and based on last years turn-out I'd suggest booking a room early if you want to stay near the event. I bet this event will be even bigger this year.
With tons of people from Atlanta and surrounding areas, I agree this will be a great opportunity for GATR exposure . Let me know if I can help in any way.

Tony can you ask about setting up a GATR tent. Several people will volunteer from this club. I will definitely volunteer spotting. Definitely experienced since I've been spotting for the last 5 months </LMAO/>
The tent will be ready by then and it would be awesome to have a cool place for us to hang out together instead of everyone being separated.

I went last year, great event. I'm planning on riding at Choco and becoming a member here. I'd love to help in any way with the event.
I'll be at Jeepfest this year too. Probably be camping with some guys from Cherokee Forum and NAXJA though. There is a sweet little campsite about 10 min away we'll be at.

2AM: asleep in my tent I hear two Jeeps revving up upper loud pretty close to us so I wake up and listen... There are people in this creek at our campsite and apparently driving in it. I get up and go see what the hell is going on and I find a TJ high centered in a log stuck in this small wide creek and another one pulling on it. I walk over to talk to our site neighbors (Chris) and he is drunk out of his mind... He says dude what's up? Ever seen a naked chick? So I'm like what the hell lol? There is a naked girl in the passenger seat of the stuck TJ. No doors no clothes. Everyone is taking pictures and laughing. Eventually they get unstuck and she walks over to us wearing a big jacket and says "You can put those pictures on Facebook just photoshop out my belly... I had a baby 4 months ago!!"

Anyone know if this is true or not or if there are any other primitive camp spots around? Closer to the jeep fest would be cooler.

if your riding your Jeep on trails or obstacles you have to pay if your coming up to watch you could probably get by with a small donation.

Yeah. You'll see it on the left before you get to home base if coming up from ATL. Or if you turn left at the light from home base it should be a few miles down the road, it'll kinda sneak up on ya but there will be unlimited people there

It was pretty good. I was near the band last year and needed hearing aids afterwards lol. It was essentially the equivalent of a jet taking off 10 feet from me for an hour.

I know from wedding photography not to step on the toes of the people who are getting paid...ruining shots is not my thing.

i am sure you can take pictures as long as you don't hold up the trail leader for the ride you signed up for.

Hey guys, the jeep fest website and Facebook page are both pretty cut and dry and in having a hard time getting any info out of those who they list to contact. I'm new to the group here and want to ride with you guys at the jeep fest so that I may become a core member after that possibly. I did not pre register for this as I did not know until now whether or not i would be able to swing it at work. Mr and a few other jeepers are going to depart from dallas at about 6 am saturday. that should put us there just before 8 am. no plans to stay the night. So-a few unanswered questions I still have. (Will be my first time attending)
1. Is the cost the same for one day as it is the weekend?
2. Do I have to pay the fee twice for me and my passenger? (Girlfriend) if so, rough $ estimate would be cool.
3. Can I show up Saturday morning and expect to be able to ride ?
4. Is a trail ride something i should have "signed up" for well in advance? I hope to wheel with a moderate crowd. No winch and open on 35s with quick discos..
5.what should I look for upon arrival to ensure I'm on some trail somewhere at some time?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Excuse my typos phone is dying!

2. You will pay per Jeep not Person
3. You can start riding at 9am
4. You can sign up for trail rides when you check in Saturday morning.
5. Everybody will be on different trails and different times. We don't have an organized GATR ride. We are running the extreme trail. Best bet is meet at the GATR tent and find out if any members signed up for same ride same time and get inline together.

Don't quote me exact number but I think they said last night at our dinner that last year there were 14 vendors including food and this year we are up to 44

It just all depends on how fast they fill up. Obstacle coarse is no sign up. Ride as much as you want.

I wont be able to come till tomorrow.... //:'(// Will be there early though. Not taking my jeep on any trails due to the tierod not being replaced yet ( on order ). Hopefully I can find a seat or two to ride some trails saturday. On a bright note I got the winch fixed today.

I totally missed this whole Jeepfest thingy. Was driving through Jasper that weekend and saw Jeeps everywhere and was like, WTF?! This is awesome. Too bad I was driving my wife's minivan.
