About Morris Mountain
The park was created from a lack of places to go wheeling.  It started as a pastime for Kris and Randy Morris and quickly grew into Morris Mountain ORV Park.  The park now has obstacles, trails, mud pits, canyons, and a primitive camping facility.

Our experience trying to find places to ride kept leading us to areas that forced you to pay for full weekends, camping facilities, or required reservations, making a spur of the moment one day wheeling trip impractical or unaffordable.  As a result,  MMORV has flexible hours and low fees to allow the average joe to take a half -day wheeling trip or a weekend long outing.

Morris Mountain ORV park will be open on the 2nd and 4th weekends of every month only.  Note this does not apply to privately rented events.

Amen to that Pat! Sunny and dry is a good combo for Morris. Should we come up with a menu for Friday night?

Sunny and dry would be a major change from 2018. I'm looking forward to a decent MM trip.

I hope the forecast changes, otherwise Friday will be the only good day for wheeling.

First time wheeling Morris Mountain and with the GA trailriders group. Any pro tips for getting into park or tips for wheeling with the group? Outside of the normal riding rules and required trail equipment.

It’s a pay box so bring cash (I think it’s $20?). Also the “facilities” are very primal so you may want to throw some toilet paper and hand sanitizer in the Jeep

Primal may be the best description yet. Haha. As for pro tips on getting into the park, turn right at the sign for the park and head on up to the pavilion. Should be where everyone is meeting up. I think the park is ours for the weekend so anyone there will be GATR.

Incredibly wise advice. Heck, you may just bring your own shovel & dig a latrine, for safety ; I'm pretty sure that a 2foot in diameter, brown-widow-scorpion-recluse-tarantula was scopin'-out a way to leap on my bits while I was in that bathroom the last time ...

Looks like this won't be my chance to get in on a ride with y'all. Just read the rules and they won't allow my 17 year old daughter to drive her Jeep so no Morris mountain for us. Maybe some other ride will work out.

I'm 99% sure that rule is not enforced (and I've never heard of that...) since ive seen kids drive at most parks as soon as they could reach the pedals. Like, 9 year olds

Speaking specifically to Morris, I've never seen the owners or anyone who actually "works" there. It's mostly an unmanned property with a pay box and the honor system

Don’t the rules state anyway that if a legal guardian is there they can drive???

What time are we planning on meeting at the pavilion? Trying to decide if I want to drive from Cumming in the morning or grab a cheap ass hotel down there Friday night.

Cadence, my daughter (& spotter in training ) just turned 15 . Since she was 9 yrs old she's been coming to every park in the S.East & drives as much as she wants . In fact , I'd bet she might get mad enough to not come if she didn't get her "lesson" .

You sign liability waivers. If you want her to drive , I honestly don't think it'll matter.  Don't sweat the small stuff; come have fun & I'm pretty sure she'll be able to drive if you ,the parent ,sign waiver..

This is what it says on the website 6.  No person under the age of 18 may operate an ORV in the park. Passengers under the age of 18 must have a waiver consent signed by a parent or legal guardian

If my 15 year old comes with me, he'll be driving part of the day, so take it for what it's worth.  Yes, I think it's all about liability.  You're not getting kicked out because of it.

No time change for me; it's just under 5 hrs from Nashville, eyeroll.
Y'all that are coming from Atlanta & surrounding are close!

I'm prepped to camp if were exhausted , lol.

5hr for a day trip? I thought I was bad. I draw the line at 4 lol

If things work out timewise we might get out by Friday night. I have such a busy week I couldn't get off on Friday to be there that night .

So, roll call. Who’s planning to ride Friday? And who’s planning to camp Friday?

ETA?

I will be there around 9am local time Friday morning. Planning to wheel all day and camp, and hopefully get some wheeling in Saturday morning.

Camping Friday night if the rain holds off long enough on Saturday to wheel early in the day

IF, and it is a big if, I get off work early enough I plan to drive down and wheel some Friday as well as Saturday. Camping is TBD. My back has been bothering me recently and I’m not sure how it would take to not sleeping in an actual bed.....

Argh

You, my friends ,all live close-enough for this to be a whim; I am unsure if I can get out to go Friday ...

Is everyone gonna bail & be gone by Saturday afternoons precip? I'd gone over it in my head all  week , eventually buckled-down , packed the frogg toggs & FluidFilmed the Jeep's undercarriage , accepting of a bit of Sat afternoon slop.

(edit: It kinda looks at this time like the rains are later?)

I would love to agree with your logic, but then I include the 'BigDave' variable, and there is no way would I conclude him heading to the park indicates the linkage being fixed.
