Title: Choccolocco Saturday 3/28 discussion thread
Post by: Grass Janitor on March 22, 2020, 06:24:00 PM
Looks like the weather after tomorrow sets up for a great day to wheel Saturday. Thinking Choccolocco due to proximity for most and it tends to dry out well.

I know there’s concern about social distancing and I think if we are smart about it we will be fine and can basically stay in our rigs.

9am local/10am eastern “meeting” at the campground. Anyone in?

Same here...depends on weather and Chinavirus

Very unlikely since we'll still be in the 15 day break from life.

I’m down if we’re not under a mandatory lockdown by this weekend but I feel like Kemp will have to grow a spine at some point

If a mandatory 2/3 week quarantine is imposed I fear it would cause a major rush on the grocery stores like we've never experienced, ever.
Image mass chaos on a national level.
I hate to imagine how people would react.

I’m good. I have enough to last me at least 3 weeks

Yeah, joke of a news conference.  Both Kemp and Trump.

I'm guessing most people already think this is coming and are getting prepared. Right?

I read this & appreciate my father spending so many hours w/ me in the woods & field & rivers/lakes learning how to hunt & fish.
I don't think they'd enjoy it but when you're starving , I'd bet that squirrel ,rabbit ,dove or catfish taste pretty awesome.

These days you should teach kids how to order from Amazon and Walmart, and how to find a parking spot at the local grocer so they can go fight with a rabid Karen in the toilet paper and bread aisles.

Anyone planning on going this weekend? If we're smart I think we can get by with less person-to-person contact than going to the grocery store.

Also morris is just a cash drop box. I don't remember how we paid at Chocco last time

I'm in lock down with the family.  Only absolutely necessary trips for provisions.

Even better. I've barely left the house since the 10th. I need to get out before it turns in to the Shining in here

Ditto...can't risk it, no matter how small of a risk.

Send pictures from the trail!

I want to go.  I really want to go.

But we are on lock down as best we can here and plan to continue for now.

All I can do is my part.  So I’ll do it.

My initial thought was it was a knock on the Morris Mountain "facilities".

it's killin me, too.
I can usually always take a drive to Wooly's , AOP or one of my neighbor's land which I've permission to go roam/ride but have done nothing since our Nov. AOP ride.
Looks like it's gonna be this way for a while.
I never leave the house so trust me; our excursions & monthly trips mean a great deal to me+ my sanctity of mind;
'just can't right now w/ this crap ...

I’m still planning on this if anyone else is.

I’ve taken the “flatten the curve” seriously and have barely left my house. So I respect the decision of those who don’t want to go and don’t want to put myself or anyone else at risk.

Taking it this isn’t gonna happen. Probably the best decision.

Sorry just saw your reply. When everyone was out on Thursday I never got the trailer out and checked over/greased up etc

No problem. I should’ve responded earlier (yesterday). Was kind of watching it all play out. Didn’t think about the extra time to prepare trailered rigs.
