Anybody want to get out for a day ride this Saturday? Realize it's short notice and a Holiday weekend. Just checking.
-
My son graduates from high school tomorrow and I have family in town this weekend so no go for me. I would be game for a day trip over the next couple of weekends.
-
I can't. Still trying to figure out rear locker issue that happened at CFR

I'll be down for the count this weekend. I'm going to try and go to Beasley Knob on 6/11/15. I know it's kind of far out just throwing it out.

I had surgery Wednesday so I will spend the weekend recovering, otherwise I would probably try to go out to the ride at Morris mountain.
-
Speedy recovery.
-
Speedy recovery scott.
To everyone else, at morris mountain there is a vet benefit ride. Everything is going to Fisher house is GA and the Wounded Warrior Project in Fort Benning.
Wheelin 4 Warriors Rock Ride 9. Check out the FB page. There will be auctions for items. My wife and I help staff the event.
-
Thanks I forgot about the Wheelin 4 Warriors.
-
Scott....what kind of surgery?

Mark, I might be up for something. What were you thinking?
-
I was originally thinking AOP or Choccolocco. Now leaning towards the Wheelin for Warriors event at Morris. I'm open to suggestions, just wsnt to get out.

Sinus surgery. Sitting around now with my nose bandaged up.
-
Well I hope you have a speedy recovery. I just finished getting the snip snip about an hour ago.

Doesn't sound pleasant, Scott.
I hope you have a few bags (no pun intended) of frozen peas. The Phantom pain is a bitch.
-
Baby butter beans to be exact

Between the beans & a case of beer you will be fine. But be warned, you might experience pain in the future. It comes out of no where. But it will not last long.
-
That's not very re assuring lol but thanks for the heads up. I plan to definitely follow the DR's orders with this one.

I hear that there are a lot of people already at Morris. Should be fun tommorow.

I'll look for you.

I have heard some people go through so much pain during the first week, they are interested in a reversal..but it will go away, eventually.

Oh, deviated septum? If so, I hope it works, but regardless, I wish you well.

Yep deviated septum, as well as removing some other bone and tissue from my turbinates, etc. fun stuff, hope it does something.

Hope you guys have some dry conditions and the trails aren't too crowded. Money goes to a good cause so that makes it worth it.

Was a post deleted off here about a benefit ride becuase of who helps put it on?!?!?!
It's a benefit rife for vets!

Did that really happen?
They raised 10k last year and over the last 8 years they've raised over 110k for the Fisher house. That's messed up.

I don't see where any posts were deleted. I have been following this thread and most others since I have been sitting around doing nothing for the past few days.
The info on page 1 is what I remember originally seeing.

I saw it. It was from Big Dave. I can totally see not wanting to promote another clubs ride but a benefit ride like this is BS. Especially when there are GATR staff members active on these other clubs as well. I saw the crawling for Reid ride promoted on every other site and not a one had a problem with it. I even promoted it on a couple because it was for such a great cause.

Yes rocks were very dry. Ask Jason how grippy they were. He had a short day but we hit some stuff in my Jeep. Conditions were awesome but it was crowded. We took a short ride after lunch then headed out to get us home.

No idea about any deleted posts on this thread. Have not been following...
But, regarding the Crawling For Reid threads in other forums....I personally asked permission from every forum prior to posting the initial ride. Just wanted to clear that up.
-
To be clear, yes two of my posts were deleted. One stated the name of the host club the other saying a staff member of GATR deleted the first post.
It's all good, the event was a huge success. Thank you to all of the good folks on here that attended. We had at least seven folks from GATR who went today.
-
I saw the post. I didn't delete it either. I don't think it had anything to do with the event as much as the group that was listed. Just guessing

Had a blast out there though. Have done every trail at MM multiple times now. Never been so dirty in my life. I saw at least 6 people rebuilding driveshafts today. Thankfully I was not one of them after making my rear out of 2.5x.25 tube. I'm going to start bringing pieces for folks who want to fix it. Other than the heat couldn't have asked for a better weekend.
-
Will, was it the dust that made it so dirty?
-
That and the heat. I had a hell of a tan until I went and washed my arms and realized I was just that dirty. All that dust meant everything was a dry as possible though. Lost 10 lbs when I took a shower.
-
Yup glad I wore pants. My arms neck and face were dust caked. Rock was super dry though. Made some of my typical challenges easy.

No attempt on V notch though it probably would have been my best chance. Aside from the fact that whole area was jammed both times we went through i didnt want to risk trying since we already down one Jeep.
I know, lame excuse.

I'd have brought you up it. Did RBD twice, right side of primos 3 times, v notch 3 times, still hill, GBU w bunch, copperhead once, hammer down, rock and roll. I've done everything there at least once except what is it? Punisher on the far left of V notch out of that mud hole. Hell naw

Nice job on RBD, if it's not filled in at the bottom that is a commitment to hit it hard enough to make it up or well not make it up...
-
Without a final count we raised over 14k.
I got to ride up RBD in a 500+ horsepower rig...that was fun.
On the third try on gauntlet, I broke the front drive shaft at the transfer case, but I was also running over every big rock I could find.
-
Glad to hear it was a successful fundraiser for a good cause!

Did you run Red Wasp? Good times to be had by all on that gem of a trail.

I've done it before but didn't hit it yesterday.
