So, I took a three jeeps to Trey mt on sat, they are new to wheeling and I was close. Had some issues with my truck on trail that were fixed quickly, the most serious was that my rear axle shifted 2-3 inches causing tire to rub on body and drivibg crooked. Loosed u bolts wrapped strap around axle and pulled back into place so I could get home.
On Sunday I decided to take a look at it and fix it right. I have 2" blocks for my lift in rear ( I know I need a real lift, I mean a jeep) jacked it up and was trying to get it back in place, I needed three hands, so I did something stupid and truck fell in my finger ( I don't know how it didn't get the whole hand). I had to jack up truck to get my hand out. Crushed/severed the bone in my finger from bottom of fingernail to the top of finger. The tip was just hanging there, it took 17 stitches to put it back together to somewhat resemble a finger.
Dr. Did a great job putting back together .
If you want to see the finger, I can post pics
Arrow is where my finger was. Other pic is after I jacked it up to get hand out.

SickO! You beat me to it. Let us see that finger. :)
-
Damn man sorry to hear.
On another note the blocks look aluminum. They are made to lower trucks which places the block under the axle. They will deform and shift if they're used as lift blocks.
-
Her you go!
Pic doesn't show it, but from the fingernail up was just hanging there. He went through nail to finger to attach and built from there

Holy crap

Danny, truck was like this when I got it. That block is severely deformed, prob what caused the axle to shift. Shifted out of place and ubolts came "loose"

Damn dude, that's insane!!! Glad you're "ok". Praying for a quick recovery and that you maintain full function on that finger.

Dude! thats sick. glad ur ok, sorry bout your fingers. looks like some other fingers took some damage. glad the Dr. was able to save some of the finger.
-
I wish you a speedy recovery.
-
Hope it heals quick without too much discomfort.
-
Damn, that is awful. Hate that happened...and I didn't even look at the pics.

I had a a friend in HS that cut the end of his finger off when it got stuck between the chain and sprocket on a go kart. It severing happened about halfway through the fingernail. Since there was no hope in saving the nub, they just let it heal as-is. His fingernail now wraps over the end of his finger, and we always found it funny to haze the underclassmen at wrestling practice by holding them down and have him tap on their foreheads with his creepy wrap-around fingernail. It wasn't painful, just gross and awkward lol
-
Gloves!!! I need to start wearing gloves too. too many little cuts from jeep work.
Hoping for a speedy recovery!
-
I wear gloves & still get cuts.
I hope it heals up fast & correctly.
-
This wasn't a cut, it was a smash crush the bone. Unless I had steel tipped gloves....
-
Yeah, was responding to Conners post.
-
At least that finger is used only for drinking tea and nose picking. :)
-
Finger injuries seem the worst of all.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
-
Dang man, hate that for you!

Dang man, I can imagine the throbbing that must have been happening. Speedy and pain free recovery, hopefully.

Yeah, the pain when it happened, then the panic when I was realized I had to jack up the truck to get my hand out! I live by myself in the sticks with no close neighbors

Or cell service.

today is day 7. stitches should be coming out. How is the hand doing?
-
Stitches come out Wednesday, finger is better, still tender as expected. Hard to see what the actual finger looks like with all the stiches.
