Title: New synthetic installed
Post by: Krawler00 on March 28, 2008, 11:03:00 PM
Just figured I would post a pic of the new winch line on the Jeep. I was suprised when I came to get it at CCOR today because I was expecting the blue rope but here was this yellow rope instead. Hey, it matches the Jeep so I can't complain. It is the Master-Pull M-P line, 13,000lb break limit. Hook comes already on the rope so that was cool, no way to steal it off the rope. I bought some foil heat tape and wrapped the first drum layer just to ease my mind for the heat aspect. After spooling it up I felt the drum and it was pretty hot. I used the suburban to spool it up so that it would be nice and tight. Neighbors probably thought I was nuts having the Jeep out in the road pulling myself up my driveway. I could not believe the weight of this line and the fairlead!! I weighed my old line and roller fairlead and it was 30#s! The winch line and new fairlead only came in at 7lbs. Cool!

I was a little unsure at first but I like the yellow now. Hate to get it dirty. ;)
