Title: Learned the hard way

Well I learned the hard way that work friends aint real friends. I got put up for promotion and now two of my "friends" at work hate me saying I dont deserve it. Maybe I should stick to making friends at places like here!

Work friends are called co-workers. Keep you head down and your chin up, and watch your back, they don't call it back stabbin' for nothin'!!

Correct and don't hire or recommend the real ones to come work with you.

To the OP that's how some folks deal with their jealous tendencies. Those who work hard will be rewarded. Those who don't complains about the ones who do. Congrats on your recent promotion opportunity.
