I understand the difference between the JK and JL Dana 44 front axles. The JL is wider by 1" and and has bigger tubes. It also has aluminum knuckles to save on weight for mpg.
Question: How long will a JL D44 hold up with 40's at the parks where GATR wheels?

Probably would for the trails you run.

I think for a wheeler that could show some constraint with their right foot, they would hold up just fine.

in all seriousness, Tyler has a 4 door jl on fairly built rubicon axles and has broken a few things. I think last trip out he broke a rear 300m rcv. His jeep likely weighs a good bit more than yours though. I don't think i would want a 2 door on 40's without some rear stretch though.

I know a guy with d44s on his 2 door JK running 35 spline axles, rcvs, etc and 40" tires. The shafts and R&P have been fine, but he can't keep his rear ARB functional. He drives like an asshole and hammers on it pretty good. I'm honestly shocked it's still together

The R&P are also bigger as well when compared to a JK R&P. With 40" it's smart wheeling but 37" could do a lot.
