I want to go to Durhamtown this week-weekend and camp 1 night. Anyone wanna go. I figure 2 days of 4x4ing should be fun. I don't want to go alone. anyone up for it? It's gonna be a great weather ! My available dates are from Thurs - sun
-
I'll be in panama city this weekend. but one weekend soon i'd like to go. i may skip the camping, but i'd like to take a ride out there one sunday soon.
-
We dont have to camp if you can only make 1 day
-
Yes! I was planning on going Saturday. Might be able to bring another jeep and a h3
-
Great, lets try to get some more people.
-
Trying to get more. The h3s are out. Got a jeep and a blazer possibly. I usually plan to meet at durhamtown at 10am
-
Of course, the one Saturday in forever I choose to work!
-
My Friday plans just got cancelled. I'd prefer to ride Friday anyway. Thoughts..?
-
It's going down! 10am at durhamtown.
Everyone is welcome of course and please post if your coming!
-
Update.
I'm not going to make it. Extremely frustrated with the hummer right now. Died on me while driving, replaced alternator and it was fine. Then died again an hour later. Battery holds charge fine.
Gonna throw in the towel and have it towed to a shop..
She's out for the time being..
-
Better on a surface street than in the mud. Good luck with the repair.
-
Sorry to hear that.... I will still go just to check it out. hopefully the rain wont be too bad.
-
I'd highly recommend not going to durhamtown alone. I went alone my first time. Got stuck and had to hike for miles with no phone service or water. Not cool

Fixed it for ya! //LMAO//
Just kidding...I like Durhamtown if I have not been able to go wheeling for a long time or with the right group of friends.
-
Yeah I ended up not going due to not wanting to get stuck ( alone ). We can try again tomorrow.
-
AAA is hauling the beast over to a shop to check it out. Should be something simple. I'd really love to go tomorrow
-
Update.
Hummer ready to rock.
Same time tomorrow.
-
Woot... Anyone else joining us?

Alternator cable had separated inside the rubber insulator somehow. Replaced and good as new
-
Awesome ride yesterday. Shoutout to the guys that showed up. There was alot of carnage and trail repairs, but overall i had a great time. If I knew how to post pics, I would.

OMG. Great photos.
Reminds me of why I'll never go back to Dtown.
Did you have a spare shaft?

-
Yessir. I try to carry as many spare parts as I can afford haha. It paid off for sure.
-
What a mess...but I'm sure it was fun (been there and done that). How did you reseat the tire on the rim?
-
Wouldn't take my jeep there if you paid me.
-
I haven't re seated it yet. Still riding on my full size spare. It's on my roof til I find time to fix it
-
Say what you will about Durhamtown but I had a blast and I can't wait to go back. Thanks for the company and friendship Cody, Clark and Sam. You all mad me feel welcomed to the group and Showed me the ropes. I do have to say I shouldn't be left alone near steep hills and I wish I recorded that when I went up it. ( I can't tell if that's Mud or something else on my seat ). I still can't believe the one thing you brake, You had the part for. I wish I took more pics, so I guess I will have to go back there soon. You guys rock. Thanks again for a great ride. //SLAMIN//
-
Oh we all think its fun, and most likely we've all been in the mud at least once, but the clean up and wear on parts is awful. It's really fun in someone elses rig lol.
A few clean ups usually cures most folks of the mud love. Crawling the rocks is a lot cleaner.
Looks like yall had a great time.

Those with IFS get real good at changing front CV shafts, seems like they go out every time out
-
I'm friends with the guy that has the scrambler on 42s, he posted a vid pulling you out of a mud hole on facebook
-
put up a link to it please. or IM me his name.
-
Nice!!!!

I loved it. Cleanup and broken parts are part of the game.
Im already ready to go back, I got some more buddies wanting to join next time too.
Jimmy you fit in the group perfectly and it was a good ass time. Your hill climb was borderline insane and it was great to watch.
Next time we should camp for a night. Cook hotdogs and burgers and put down some cold ones!
-
Let me know when your going, I'm in!
-
What y'all really should do is come out to a
GATR trail ride. You will get to experience a
whole new level of fun. The places we go and
the trails we hit.
