I know this is the one I've been waiting for. How 'bout you guys?
This will be the same weekend one year later from my first GATR ride. Last year we had an awsome time and had a great turn out.
I can't wait to go back.
Anybody else excited about this one?

Love tellico and now ill be locked! Ill have to make sure we dont have a concert that weekend but I am pretty sure I am in.

lower 2, trail 7, trail 9 and parts of 8. The big obstacles in that group is Slickrock and Peckerwood

I am anxious, I have yet to ride tellico & dont expect to do much next weekend, so if i have to choose I will do tellico over aetna.

I will be there unless something comes up. I'm taking some summer classes so I have to do something every weekend besides go home.

well i get 2 weeks vacation in May so I might take off the friday so I can get up there kinda early and have things set up. if gas skyrockets soon Ill be making this trip and not Aetna, love me some Tellico

Since the last ride you got the 4" lift and bigger tires right? This time should be a blast for u.

Tires are the same now but I want to get 32s before then. We'll see. I will have to trim most likely if I go up any from 31s. That is the down side of a WJ.

I've seen some really nice trim jobs though. Looking forward to seeing it :)

I am! I'll have some rock lights wired up too. Those things are way too cheap and functional not to grab some. :)

Ummm I AM!
And for those who ponder... our "short" night ride from stateline, up 5 to 4 up the ledge and back turned out to take a while, i think near 4 hours worth maybe. Lots of us were newbs at the time and moved very slow. I know I was half scarred to death the first hour. All i ever heard about mighty Tellico were crazy large rocks and ledges and I thought at any moment we would come upon some. Then on the way back down Seth (red99wj) got his sway bar jammed into his..... (something to do with steering) and Billy had to use a high-lift to get it all back out so we could keep moving. It was a great time though!

Ok.. So this is WAY in advance but who thinks they probably ride up early friday (like noon or 1)? I am thinking seriously off taking off friday the 27th of June that way I can sleep in a little, pack up the Jeep, meet up with whoever and be at Stateline (assuming we plan to stay there) by like 3 on friday. Gives me plenty of time to unpack and maybe go ride a little before everyone else gets there and we hit up a good night ride.

I should be able to get Friday off and if that is the case then I will be leaving as soon as I can get myself up. I had a lot of fun on that Friday ride last week. I would love to do that again.

I could get down there by 5 or so on Friday.
And actually, I would prefer to get down there Friday. Last year, it was not fun. My parents and I went to Knoxville for orientation Thursday night, got there at midnight. Got up at 5 the next morning, went through orientation, and got back home by 9 or so. Got all my stuff together, went to sleep at 11, woke up at 4. Drove to Tellico, rode all day, left at 8:30 that night. Got back at home at like 2. And slept.
It was not fun.

I will be heading out early friday like for spring fling. I PLAN ON ACTUALLY HAVING TIME TO RELAX THIS TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D Not that spring fling was not fun, but I never got to sit and relax. I sat in the Jeep... way too long!!! I plan on sitting by a fire at Crawfords and chillin.

are we going to camp at crawfords or stateline? Last time we did stateline. How far is Crawfords from the trails(not trail 1) Stateline is pretty much right there for T5

OK by me. What is the cost difference? I sure would enjoy a shorter trail time trip! :D

I think a campsite is $10 per night but you can fit 3 or 4 tents easily with Rigs. I know last time, Daniel, Mike and Me had out rigs, tents and Mike had one of those fold out canopy things all set up with plenty of room to spare.

Cool, just split the $10 amoung the 3 I guess. I have a small back pack tent so no room needed by me. Lookin forward to it. Hopefully I can make it up. Gotta start saving cash now. Last trip broke me!

That we will for sure have 2 sites reserved (assuming enough people plan to camp that we need to for sure get 2). If I am going to take a day from work I want to get the max riding in I can. Not sure if Ill camp both friday and Saturday night... I am a cell phone addict, cant live without it too long :hlp Maybe ill hang out on Helicopter awhile to have service so I can talk to the female.

Do your calls connect on Helipad? I always get a signal, but it never connects.

well ive never actually been up there so I dont know. THey connected no problems though where T4 connects with the trail to GuardRail and Helipad where our second meeting spot was last year.

I am totally down for staying at State line. Right next to the river. Right next to the trails. Trail 1 KILLED my gas last trip. It's really not that short a drive from Crawford's to the trails either. Looking forward to staying at Stateline. I'll camp wherever also. Doesn't matter to me. I'd rather not make that drive from Crawford's a couple times a day.

Stateline is nice. The access Rd is tight in my motorhome. My rig is not street legal and hauling up each day in the motorhome is not an option. (from crawfords)
The TN rangers are bad news. Last year we got $125 each tickets for drinking a cold beer while cooking a steak. This was ridiculous!
Bring solo cups and keep cans out of site. When the ranger pulls up solo cups go into the fire.
To the point. Last year we went through GA and it was a long and tiring drive on two lanes to stateline. When we came back home we turned right at the hardess and went to the interstate. About 6 hrs from Hardess to Columbia, SC. All interstate, I will pull a map and go this way for sure next time.

I'm going to try and go up Thursday night and get us some space. It would help if somebody else was going so we can make sure to get two spots.

Basically Doug, they are state implemented camp sites with tent pits, fire pits and picnic tables along River Road leading into Tellico ORV. They are very nice, but there is no website and they are first come, first serve. I have never not been able to get a site unless it was at Dixie Run, which is the biggest event Tellico hosts.

Guys, would anyone be interested in doing another Ocoee White Water Rafting trip on Friday morning to get the Tellico weekend started like we did last year? Man, that was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fun.

Don't forget the spots are huge also. You could easily put about 10 tents on one.

I would love to, but I would rather do it on another trip. I want all Tellico this time. I gotsta have me some Tellico, ya know. :P

well given the night ride we went on a yr ago there I need a good nights sleep the night before!

I am definitely going to take at least a half day on Friday to get up there well before dark to get setup. Thursday is probably not an option for me.
Yeah I was pretty much a total newb last year. It was an unforgettable experience though! That sway bar ordeal had me a little scared there for a minute.

Yeah, that whole sway bar fiasco I could definitely have done without. Our riding trails at night, can't see what I'm hitting, pounding headache.. it was awesome. As soon as we stopped to fix the sway bar, I was out in the driver's seat. I took me a nice little nap. But, it was all part of the fun.
