I am also in for a Saturday day trip; @06ljrubby will also be there.   I repurchased a 2012 JKU in May on '40s. I am ready to see what it can do on the first trip with the new Jeep!

Make sure you mentally and physically prepare the family for Morris in August.   Morris any time can be an experience,  and in the heat and humidity of August, it can be miserable.

I don't want to discourage you from bringing the family,  but you should be prepared for what you're getting them and yourself into!

Morris has improved their bathrooms,  but the improvements didn't make them awesome.  There is no escaping the heat except to get into an air conditioned vehicle, so fill up the tank on your way to the park.

They are not coming now, just me and red bull Jeep coming. Wife has to work. Even if they came they would be fit as she’s been a Girl Scouts . I’m trying to get her back into camping. Will have to bring her another trip another month. No big deal and I know I haven’t been out since I sold my tj. I’m taking easy trails and just enjoying the friendship.

For anyone that has been to Morris you know that it does not dry well and become a sloppy mess. 

I really, really want to wheel this Fri/Sat and would be open to going to Chocco as an alternate since it dries so much better.  Just throwing it out there as a possible option.

@tj05world Zack - I don't think any final decision has been made about Morris or Chocco, but once that is the case, it will be this same thread.  Based on what I am seeing for rain forecast in both locations, it looks about the same.  The big difference is that Chocco dries quicker and much better than Morris.  Stay tuned to this thread...

As of this morning, Tue the rain forecast looks more favorable for Chocco for both Fri and Sat.

My vote is to change to Chocco this weekend.  Does that work for everyone that has checked in?

Read back a few posts.  Morris doesn’t drain well when it rains, chocco does , makes for better wheeling.

I’m fine with whatever. Haven’t wheeled much the last couple of years and it seems like it’s always been at Chocco, but it’s close, fun, and like y’all said definitely dries out surprisingly well. 

This weather station is close by, in case y’all are weather nerds like me…
