Well, its that time of the year again, to wash your 4x4! ;D
Join us Sunday April 26th 2009, from 11:00am - 5:00pm at Gainesville College in Oakwood, Georgia. Registration starts at 10:30.
This event will be GATR's first official Meet & Greet, so come on out and meet some fellow members and show some support for you club!
Raffles will be held throughout the event. Proceeds will go to Project Light Saber! SUPPORT YOUR TROOPS and show up!
To Sum it all up the goal of this event is to have FUN, there will be many dealerships and raffles going on not to mention food but most important we will simply be hanging out all afternoon and hopefully signing up new members!!!!

Also I have just recieved confirmation that the oakwood P.D. is going to donate a retired cruiser for a car smash.
So pretty much we are going to have a cop car there for bashing with a sledge hammer ;D, You gotta love it!

I mainly want to do this for some pics. If we got two or three of our rigs flexed on it and maybe threw in our banner somewhere it might not be a bad little photoshoot for the club to use sometime! {cool}
And for those of you wondering the cop car looks completely fine, just a blown motor and the city won't put a new motor in it so it's ours! Still has decals and most everything.

where do yall work? im thinking about going to middle georgia tech (b.c they have a campus here in milledgeville) in the fall to take some classes and eventually get my ASE, etc.

I work for a commercial millwork company in dahlonega, ga. i am one of the drafters here but im going to school for mechanical drafting hehe lots more money in that than the arch. side.

I just got acceptred to Georgia State in my pursuit of a business degree that will yield me no jobs when i graduate :D I have been at gainesville for about three years now! I have many times wondered why I didn't just go to tech school and been done with it!

AWSOME !!!! You can count 4WheelParts and myself in, we want to help out in any way we can. I'll be talking with my corp. office and Reg. Mgr. to get our 4WheelParts "MINI-ME" trailer out at the event. I'll start getting a list of Raffle Items together to donate to help make the event a huge success.
This is a great way to show "YOUR" & "OUR" support of the TROOPS !! Project Light Saber is a great way to show support and is something that the TROOPS can use in their eveyday operation.
I spent nine months in Iraq during the first Desert Storm / Desert Shield with the 351st Military Police Combat Support Army Reserve Unit. I don't claim to know what todays TROOPS are going through but I have the utmost respect for our TROOPS & their FAMILIES for what they do on a daily basis. No matter what your stance is on the war we must always support the ones that give us the right to live our lives the way we choose to.

This event is really starting to take shape. Me and Josh have been working hard getting local support and some nice sponsors out there. I have been soliciting our customers here at work so both 4x4 & muscle car crowd should be strong.
Albert thanks for jumping in on this. Your support should help a ton.
If anybody has a line on a RTI ramp let me know, or if you want to contribute in any way or help out.

Thanks for having us... Just thinking out loud but if you don't have anyone running your silent auction the team of us from 4WheelParts could take on that task for you. The silent auction is always a great way for vendors to donate goods and auction them off to the highest bidder. If people have some good new or used parts at home put but no longer have a use for it that to could go into the auction. It may be easier for someone to give up some good parts they have laying around than to come up with the cash to donate... Any who, well talk more about it next week.

Yeah, this is an open show basically. 4x4, cars, trucks... you name, bring it. So persuade your girlfriend to let you bring 'em. This should be alot of fun!!

The fee is for registration, only if you intend for your Jeep to be in the "competition" but as far as I know, there shouldn't be a fee just to be there. So, you shouldn't have to pay... unless I'm wrong.

It looks like the way it's going to be set up is if you want to ride up and park in the GATR section of the show then the registration is $15 and it can be paid when you arrive starting at 11:30.
If you don't want to "show" your vehicle and just want to attend and relax then you can park in the public lot and go ahead and walkover to the GATR section in the "show" lot. We will have some tables and chairs setup but if you have any lawnchairs to bring that might be a good idea.
Also Don't forget about the Allsouth Flex competition if you want to register for that then you can check in at the registration booth. We are still working with allsouth to set a price for the competition which benefits the military. Proabaly around $5.00 but that's just an estimate.

F.Y.I. I have landed a five minute interview on A.M. 550 friday morning at 7:10. My plan is to talk the club up and really get the message out for everyone to attend. The station is pretty local to North GA so if you can pick it up tune it in!
Also the Show technically starts at 12:00 but registration is going to probably start around 11:00 so anytime between there would be great.
As far as the top and doors are concerned since it's supposed to be in the 80's on Sunday i doubt i'll have mine.

I ain't got much to say about it but damn I had a good time. It really was a blast. I was happy that all y'all made a good impression on my father. He kinda forced me to drop by Jasper Jeep on the way home. ;)
Oh and let it be known that the Green Jeeps dominated this event. White, red and black were pretty high up there too.

Also want to thank Gainesville State College's SIFE Team for the parking lot & help.
We raised $308.00 for Operation Lightsaber. Which 4 Wheel Parts is matching 100%!!! We are certainly going to be doing more shows with everyone this summer.
If all goes well you guys should be reading about this in Offroad Adventures in a month or two.

Awesome event and a great turnout. Me and the wife had a great time, even know our Jeep was full of dirt. See you guys next Sunday at River Rock.

Had a good time. The weather was perfect. It was also nice to meet all you new guys.
As far as the RTI contest went, Albert killed everybody. GAWag was a respectable second. I should have disconnected my rear sway bar. Then maybe I wouldn't have been last.

Thanks for everyone that helped make the show what it was... Great!! I was just happy to be part of the GATR first event and want everyone to know that we really enjoyed it. Also you all know what I have to put up with now that you have meet my boss. He is a great guy and gets a little CrAzY with a microphone in his hand but it's a tough job keeping the crowd happy. I was just glad he was there to do it because I'm not good with a microphone...
Anyway thanks again for making my day as I was proud to win my first ever Ramp Travel Contest and driving on the Cop car wasn't bad either...

Crown Vics don't behave like rocks. One more inch and we might be putting back on all fours, but it would still be taking me home. I am looking at some teraflex revolvers thought.
