Title: New toy
Post by: Krawler00 on January 30, 2015, 10:44:49 AM
Got me a new toy for my everyday carry. Springfield XDS 3.3 .45. It is a sweet little piece and is the same size as my old .380 but packs a bit more punch  //;D// 6.25" total length and 1" wide. This little gun is a sweet setup for everyday carry. Has a fiber optic end sight with white dot rear. I want to go with some trijicon night sights eventually. 5 round mag +1 in chamber capacity. I carry an extra mag just incase but honestly, if you can't get the job done with 6 rounds from a .45 you better hang it up.

pocket carry?

he has a pic of it in a hip holster...I'm guessing not pocket carry.  Plus, its still a little big for that imo

I'm looking at the XD-S and the S&W Shield - both in 9mm.  Nice piece.

Yup. it will fit in your pocket but what good is a gun you have to struggle to get out when needed. I use a galco IWB holster. Gun came with an external paddle holster which works really well compared to my fobus for my 1911. That holster sucks for retention as when you pull the pistol it feels like you will pull the entire holster with it. The Springfield paddle holster is really nice and I will probably use it in the summer months to keep the gun away from my body when carrying. It is a single stack mag. You can buy an extended pinky mag and get 1 more round. My pinky hangs off the bottom but not uncomfortable at all. Gun came with hard case, 3 mags, 2 mag holster, paddle holster, lock and cleaning stuff. Got a smokin deal off a facebook page for selling guns. New in store at BP was over 600! I got it for $500. Gun looked brand new like never fired new. I wanted to condense my ammo storage and have my pistols all use the same caliber. Makes it easier. They make this in 9mm as well and have a 4" barrel length. I like not having a locking safety as well. One less thing to worry about in a quick situation. This uses the grip safety setup. Works for left and right hand people as mag release goes thru both sides as well.

Where would you place a holster on my build?

Yeh, no doubt, but I pocket carry, and want to know if the gun works for pocket carry. No quick draw obviously, but easy access w the 380.

Holsters don't work for me.  Upside down pear shape lol.

I picked up a Kimber Solo, pretty nice pocket pistol when I don't feel like messing with a holster

Nice!! Have you fired it yet? I'm interested in knowing the recoil.
