Hey everyone? So I have been through two oem battery’s on my Jeep and have looked into the web and talked with my master tech on this issue. I have heard it’s either the remote start or fuses for a continuous draw even after my Jeep is off. I had the Jeep die while driving on busy school street and waited for 10 mins too start it as the volts were at 11.8-12.2 and 13.9-14.3, two cops showed up and asked what was up. Lucky they were nice. What’s your ideas as for as replacing for a none water base optima battery or send to dealership ? Wish there was a recall on this.

I'm guessing that you you need to have the alternator checked. But the voltage regulator could be on the fritz. If like a TJ, it is in the computer. I've never had a vehicle die due to a bad battery but I'm not sure how the JK reacts in that situation.
-
Supposedly a car can run without a battery once cranked, but a bad alternator won't work. I'm ignorant and just spouting things I've heard. ASE certified BIG Mike should be able to help.
I'd have the alternator checked out.
-
I believe advance can test your alternator too. That’s where I’d start
-
Old school way is to have the vehicle running & disconnect the NEGATIVE terminal.
If it stays running the alternator is good.
If it dies after a few seconds (30 or so) it's a bad alternator.
-
You can test your alternator.

-
And you can test for a parasitic draw
-
While running, disconnect the NEGATIVE battery cable. If it stays running the alternator is good. If it dies after a few seconds, the alternator is bad.

I know that Clark was going to jump in, but he forgot to turn on the A/C on. Or just go by Advance Auto

Alt,starter is okay but battery failed all test. I’m not putting another lead battery in. I have always disliked the water fill battery’s since I took my automotive battery class in college. What’s a recommendation Odyssey or yellow top ?

Advanced Auto AGM

I have an Odyssey and don’t recommend one. The main reason is that if you need warranty, there are only a few dealers around Atlanta. If I had to do it again, I’d buy an Advance Auto AGM.
BTW, an old battery guy at a distributor that used to service the shop I worked at YEARS ago told me, the number one cause of battery failure is vibration. Think about that and the abuse the batter gets, even secured, when your rig is slamming down on rocks (and mall curbs). Eventually the plates are going to break loose and short out. The numbers 2 cause of battery failure is dirt on the top. A layer of dirt gets moist and creates and low level short across the terminals. At least that is what the old guy said.

The battery buyer for NAPA told me #1 killer of batteries is temperature swings.

My truck battery died on my way home today.
I swung buy & got a $28 blem.
I'm going out on a limb & saying this will be a pretty bad winter.
Remember, it's still fall.
I'm pretty sure that was the factory battery.

Where'd you find a blem battery?

Starter..HTF did that come into question? How is the alternator?

Georgia Battery. 129 south between Snake Eater Rd. & Gillsville Hwy. On the left.
This winter will be a good test.

Parasitic draw from the ground maybe. But anyways the alt was good and wires. I did check all the ground wires starting from battery. Going to replace with agm instead of water lead battery. This cold weather I noticed is effecting this issue and I never did like lead base. If this doesn’t work it’s going to dealership.

Is that the place down in the hole? I think they have a interstate battery sign out.

Yes, I'm pretty sure.
