We got an order to extrude 20,000 lbs
to produce the new Sig Sauer Custom Works P320 AXG Scorpion.

We mainly extrude aerospace but lately one of our biggest
jobs has been extruding the floor for the new tanks the Army
will be introducing.

I have spent many hours working those 2 die's for dimensions
and to flow right out of our 16,200 ton extrusion press.
(That extrusion press was made in the 1930's by Germany)

That's super neat Kevin! I wonder why they wanted the two pieces extruded separately and then welded... are they too large to be made as one or would that long of a vertical web make it difficult to keep tolerance?

Their to big to be extruded as one.
Together they would be 29'' wide.
The biggest billet we can extrude is a 29" round billet.
That would be out side the circle size that could be ran.

We have the largest extrusion press in the world still in production.

Supposedly there is one slightly larger in Russia but does not run anymore.

That’s cool @tjsahara00

The M2 Bradley was my daily driver/overlander 😆 for most of my time in the Army.

Glad they are getting rid of the M113 APC’s finally.  They have been in use since Vietnam.
