Hey guys, I know I'm new around here, but I've had my 2" RE BB sitting in the living room for a week now and it's killing me. The guy I was expecting to help me install it has been otherwise occupied all week. If there is anyone in the northern GA (Augusta) area that might be able to help a guy out, I'd like to try and put this on this weekend. Any takers?
-
What all did the kit come with?
-
It's your basic coil spring spacer lift. The kit comes with the pucks to put above the springs and a set of shocks. That's it. Fairly easy, except when my legs would be sticking out into the street.
-
if you want to come to clemson sc, i will help you put it on.
-
Have you done one before? Tools etc?
-
Dude, you can trust Alex, he has done lots more than just a basic lift, read his build thread. (Link in his signature)
Alex have you received that package yet? If not should at least be there tomarrow.
-
didn't mean any offense, just didn't want to get there and have it be a blind leading the blind adventure. Alex if you're willing, I can be there tomorrow morning.
-
Alex is good at it, ain't no doubt about it. You can trust him man. {toast}
-
Yeah, after looking at his build, I don't have any doubts.
-
Don't let him get a hold of your Jeep for too long though, you might end up driving a rock crawler home. :D
-
lol, yeah, it's all i can do to limit myself to this short lift. The last thing I need is a little push over the edge. This being my all day every day driver around the jobsite, I gotta get in and out over and over. I can't see that being fun making a 3 foot leap avery few minutes.
-
Yea mark i got the pacage today. If you want to come up today or tomorrow call me at 478-290-3438. I think it is about a 2 hour drive.
-
Well, did you get the BB done?
How's it look?
-
Ok, so here's the rundown:
The requisite before shot. Mine's on the left:

When you don't read the directions and decide to put the bumpstop extensions on the front, fabrication is necessary:

Looks good.
Alex, I'm glad I'm not the only one dumb enough to us the grinder and welder while wearing Chacos! haha
-
Alex, I appreciate the help, it was definitely worth more than a tank of air. If you ever need a hand, let me know. I'll post again once the new wheels and tires are on.
-
nice. you have already made the first step into pissing all your money in to your jeep. thats why we have this club. enjoy!
-
:D you got it Kyle!
-
And it continues, new tires and wheels are going on as I type this. More money down the drain. Gonna look badass though %)
-
More money down the drain.
Think of it as "Entertainment Expense". ;D
-
I told my Buddy about your old tires and he wants them if you still have them.
-
Alex,
I've got a guy here that says he's gonna take em, but I've had so many people back out of stuff at the last minute, whoever shows up with cash first gets them.
So here they are, I decided to go w/ the goodyear MT/R w/Kevlar. The dealer couldn't get duratracs so he knocked almost 90 bucks off the price of these for me. So for about an extra 200, I am rolling high.
And now for the main event.
THE NEW MEATS!!!!

Looks good. Did you go with 33s?
-
Yep, 33- 12.50 I am extremely satisfied with how the whole thing came out.
-
It looks good, what part of Augusta are you in? I'm from Martinez.
-
I live in old town... and yes, I have to clean the crackheads out of the jeep every morning.
-
looks good man
-
{toast}
-
looks good. Any more plans
-
Well, after having driven it around all evening, the power loss is noticeable so regearing may be in the future. Also stronger axels? For now I am content...that should last a week or two.
-
Looks great.
-
looks good I like them tires {toast}
-
Looks awesome {toast}
You shouldn't need stronger axles with 33's. All stock ones will be ok.
If you go up to 35" tires or larger then you probably will if you have a D35. If you have a D44, you should still be good to go.
-
I think I'll be OK with the stock axels, but I definitely want a locker in the rear and wouldn't want to put the D35 under that kind of load. I'm looking into the Super D35 kits available. I think that would suit me fine for what I will be using it for.
-
You'll be fine I've been running 33" super swampers on my locked Dana 35 for over a year and haven't had a problem. And I've even tried breaking it a couple of times just for fun.
-
hey Jeepers... that rubi you parked next too i have seen that around post... I havent seen you though.. but I will be at the px at lunch time.. I park on the far side where the atm is.. cant miss my jeep.. its such a POS..
-
I'll look for you. Which px, the little one with the Chef Redd's in it or the bigger one?
-
the big one
-
Jeepers, watch out! This chance encounter will be memorable!!! ;D
-
Couldn't make it out there today. MAybe tomorrow will be less ridiculous around here.

-
Jeepers... what do you do on post.. are you PP, DAC, or in training status?
-
None of the above. I'm a superintendent for the contractor that is renovating the training barracks, battalion HQ, brigade HQ, and Dining Facility off of Barne's Ave.
-
hey thats right down the street from me.. I needed to check cause I almost got into trouble cause of a PVT on another forum that is in AIT.. Not sure when we will be moving into the trailers over by the class 6... now that will be a nitemare...
-
Which rig is yours, I recognize most of them around here. You kind of see the same people over and over again.
-
if you have the tires still he wants to pick them up.
-
its the 08 JK blue right now has no doors and the front flares are off...
-
Hey Alex, if this kid here doesn't pick them up Monday, tell your buddy they are his. Not gonna let em sit around forever.
