I loved the hearts...and the beef and the cheese and the sausage and the bread!

Truly better than going out for steak and such.

Took Dave’s daughter, Georgia  for quick ride at the dirt track,  went to turn and had no steering.  Broke all three bolts on steering box, no steering whatsoever. Special thanks to Kevin, Joshua, Rick and Zack for hellping our,  very special thanks to Big dave for loading up my Jeep on his trailer and will be making the drive to hiawassee in the morning, then he will be coming back to get his Jeep.

I’m just thankful this did not happen on interstate doing 65!

Other than that, I had a great trip, next ride I’ll be on tons, 37’s and hydro assist ( I needed a new steering box anyway)

Great ride today. Special thanks to Chuck and Josh for spotting and to Team Allsouth for pulling cable when I got high centered on that stump.  Awesome meeting several new members that came out to play this weekend. I didn’t take many pictures.

A good reminder for doing pre and post trip inspections...steering loss on the highway would be turrible..

After today's ride a big group of us went to the local Mexican food joint, which was cool.

What was even cooler:  The tab being picked up by Jeff ( @Jeff.Allsouth )!  Many thanks, Jeff.

Great day of wheeling!  Plenty of solid trails! Seems  like it’s been forever since I’ve been out on a dry day and not 700 degrees.  My daughter  had a great time as well!

Big thanks to Drew and Zach for helping out when I lost a bead. And nice treat from the Allsouth crew for dinner!

Terrible job taking pics, but here are a few.

No jeep carnage for me. But had a bad night at the motel.  I went to local emergency room and was diagnosed with infected gall bladder.  I managed to load up and drive home Saturday morning and went straight to Northside in Cumming.  Surgery last night and feeling pretty good now.  Home tomorrow.

I guess you would have rather had a broken driveshaft huh? That's sucks. At least you got it taken care off and get to take feel good pills for a couple days.

Made it home. We have some new scratches and a crushed muffler and on the way home a rock found our windshield.

I will post a few videos later this afternoon. Now it's time to get the floor boards done on the truck.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191117/8d8b634faf11e2ce9aa2f4b7b0087691.jpg)

Hi Jeffrey.
Thanks for the kind words.
I really enjoyed meeting each of you. This was exactly the kind of club I was looking for, friendly on the drinking & eating, and responsible when wheeling.

Thank you ALL for the great time together on Friday and Saturday!

After these 2y away from the trails, I finally got back to that feeling after an Off-roading weekend, tired but reenergized! :-)

Drug Cannonball Kevin's ZJ from AOP to Hiawassee.  Went back to AOP to get my pile & back to Gainesville.

I'm convinced tht I'm so bad at snagging pix , the karma is why I never have any of my Jeep,  [help]

but , I did manage to grab phone & snip two that aren't just of Shawn or Jimbo's taillights ...

12+ hour road trip for Georgia & I.
Drug Cannonball Kevin's ZJ from AOP to Hiawassee.  Went back to AOP to get my pile & back to Gainesville.
Hindsight: go back the following weekend to wheel, THEN trailer it home.
That's the pure offroad spirit.
Clap clap clap!
Congrats Big Dave...

Sharon and I had a great time due to a lot of great people. Thanks to everyone that helped out and took the time to look after someone other than themselves.

We all had a great time from Allsouth hitting the trail. I bit of a different pace for Jeff and the RZR and what he is used to. We broke off towards the end of the day and got to open up the RZR on the RZR Life race trails. Man its crazy how its just absorbs the terrain, never been a go fast kind of guy, but it was blast for sure!

Hopefully my Jeep will be ready for the next one for a mild shake down after the new axles go in.

One poser shot of the RZR I grabbed. This was also a 'shake down run' of a new media guy for us (Hunter, for those who met him) so I might have some other pictures and videos to post later in the week too, we'll see how it turns out.

Thanks for such a great and friendly welcome and all the hospitality all day!
We had a great time and my 6 yr old asked if we could go back this weekend.

It was a beautiful day and I dont think we could have had a better introduction to wheeling.  We met some GREAT people (apologies for not remembering all the names).  Jason was great to talk us through so much stuff and help with the learning curve and show us around on some of the green trails when my 10 yr old got a little anxious.  By the end of the day my daughter was navigating us around and the kids were all out of the jeep scouting out lines and trails like little guides.

With the exception of slamming into that stump as i was climbing one of the first hills of the day we had no incidents at all.  The rubi rails did their job, i noticed as I was cleaning the jeep yesterday, and the wheels have a little rash on them but nothing some black touch up paint wont fix.

Now, I just have to get this steering thing diagnosed and corrected once and for all.  Still having to make mini/micro steering movements to keep it going straight.  I feel like i am all over my lane.
(for another thread)

Thanks so much to everyone! It was a pleasure to meet all of you and see the comradeship and the help you were giving each other.

I have now added to my list of must haves, like a radio (thanks again Jason for the peace of mind you let us borrow, it made such a difference with our confidence riding around alone after lunch!)

I had a good time the one trail we went on. My son wasn't feeling good at all. Just staring out the window and didn't want to get out when we were waiting for people to climb things. That wasn't like him at all.
Chose to leave after the one trail.
The jeep did great. I need to get it on more challenging stuff again.

Some pictures from the one new trail.

Ruby and I had a wicked good time. Thanks everyone for leading and letting us ride with you.
She was super bummed when we broke on Friday. We thought our weekend was done.
Took the drive shaft to Chattanooga Driveline Service and Tommy retubed it so we could wheel Saturday.
Killer service, we got there @ 4:30 Friday afternoon, they close at 5:00.
He stayed late to fix it. So cool... Can't find guys like that everyday.

Get better soon Kirk and good luck in the future without the gall bladder!

Gallbladder is no more.  I had the surgery Saturday night and was discharged late today.  Feeling OK as long as I don't bend at the waist.  Treatment at Northside Hospital was first rate.  Thanks for your thoughts.

Like I said be ready for life without the gall bladder.  Some people have to take medicine after the removal of the gall bladder.

Glad to hear you are doing well. I hope you have a speedy recovery.

My son recently had surgery at Northside Cherokee in Canton and they provided great care.

I'm trying to get the .MP4 when I have it I can send it to you, Chuck.

Talking about doing this for more rides, we can organize it better next time too so we can get some better shots of all groups.

My family had an amazing time.  See seeing the smiles on my son's and Dad's faces were priceless.  Even got my girlfriend to ride up trail one, which might not sound like much but for her  it was a personal best.  It had been too long since I've rode with the group.  Great seeing you guys again.  Looking forward to the next ride.
