Sitting on the couch spending evening with the fam. Out of the blue my wife starts shopping for jeeps....used....from never been off road to rock crawlers... asking why I would dump 6 grand on winch and bumpers on my f250 and beat up a nice truck when i could get a beater to beat up. She doesn't even care for off roading. What a sexy gal! //SLAMIN// Sadly i cant say why i want to do that to my truck but cant help myself. In truth i may do a crawler some time but really just like adventuring off road right now. If i could legally do a 100 mile powerline trip i would be in heaven.

Jeep worth it bud. The drivetrain of the f250 is solid, but if something happens it will be a struggle to recover.
There are things for diesels that give them some travel and ability to run faster over terrian.

I would take advantage of this opportunity!! Keep your truck ready to tow and you'll have a lot more fun imo

Strike while the iron is hot. Find a jeep you like and build it up. Then get a trailer.

She would be willing but I am in no hurry. I am just honered that she is so selfless. I have some home responsibilities to honor first before i think about another toy. ...need to make a dining table and chairs. Also have to put rails on front and back porch before we can refi the house.

I'll 2nd what everyone else is saying. A jeep would be so much better off-road, and you will have much more fun than you think when your able to get off the bunny trails and make the tighter turns and steeper climbs

Ride shotgun it someone's jeep, you will come around very quickly. I like the challenge of drivibg my truck where it shouldn't go, but in reality, it's very limited to where I can go. Fun, but limited.
