Hi,.................. {toast}, what no time for intro {ehm}
-
Hey guys, It looks like Krahn beat me to posting up our Second WFTW event here. We really appreciate all of you that showed at our event last year in September. I see that you have a River Rock run already happening two weeks before ours. It sucks about the timing, but should any of you be unable to make your event we would love to have you at ours. Of course we would greatly appreciate any assistance you can give in advertising the event and encouraging any of warriors to attend and enjoy a day of wheelin!!. I can be reached via the email listed on the flyer. Thanks again.
-
I had a blast last year and may attend this year schedule permitting. The bbq was awesome also. To bad it rained on the parade. {boohoo}
-
im sure ill attend, ive been hearing all this hype about river rock,and havent gotten a chance to see what its about yet
-
I MAY BE ABLE TO MAKE THIS AS WELL, SCHEDUAL PERMITTING ALSO,....I MISS ME SOME RR {toast}
-
What other Georgia forums or sites should I post this on? Being from Florida, I dont know all of the Georgia sites.
-
This is also the same weekend as the Dixie Run, which is a big event for alot of southeast wheeling.
-
hey Glen... whats up.. I will try and make it again this yr.. GA Rock Crawlers is another site to post it on..
-
I want to attend this event, but I will be heading back to this dump of a country around that time. {boohoo}

When I set this up with River Rock, they thought the Dixie run was the weekend after.

Had a blast with you all last year, look forward to this years event. Thanks for the info. I will post up there as well.
is it pay at the gate?
We usually set up a tent at the bottom of the entrance rather than at the gate, but it is pay on site. I am requesting pre-registration for our veterans and warriors to help prevent confusion the day of etc.
-
whats the required equipment? (cb's, extinguishers, winch, etc)?

whats the required equipment? (cb's, extinguishers, winch, etc)?
This is not an official GATR ride, so just look at the River Rock website.
-
River Rock requires that you have a fire extinguisher, seat belts for all passengers, and at least a stock roof or roll bar. As for a winch etc, that is up to you. We have plenty of people come out with stock rigs and very little mods. We generally have several rigs on each ride with full gear to assist if needed. The goal is for everyone to have a good time and drive home without damage. At least for non trailered rigs. IF you pull it, drive it like you stole it!
-
lol, well if u see the white baby bronco tore up, stop and lend a hand {toast}
-
This is event is just over two weeks away. We have been getting a good response, even have a couple of rigs coming up out of Tampa area. We will be doing a guided trail ride on Friday at 10:00,a ring toss event Friday afternoon, guided trail ride on Saturday at 10:00 and the cookout Saturday night at 6:00 (burgers and dogs). I am advertising at the VA in Atlanta and with the Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2) at Ft. Benning, Ft. Gordon, and Ft. Stewart, so we will hopefully have a few warriors in attendance as well.
-
A little late, but hopefully I can still jump onboard. Looks like it will be mostly Jeeps. I have wheeled at RR multiple times and love going there to enjoy weekends. I drive a built Landcruiser and hope I am welcome to jump onboard. Looking forward to meeting you guys and getting to know to.
FYI- I am about 4 minutes from RR so I will swing by and check it out. Hopefully I can run with you guts on a few trails.
:)

You should come to GATR Fest this weekend.

That is what I plan, I won't be hard to spot in the crowd of Jeeps. I'll be the only hardcore curb crusher out there.
-
The event is open to all vehicles (that have required safety equipment). I am unable to reply to pm's on this site for some reason. So in response to one I received: We have a couple of open seats if needed. Look forward to seeing you.
-
Our crew will bring at least three Jeeps on Saturday. I have contacted some other folks about coming out as well. My buddy posted your flyer on gfsj.org.

Might try and make Saturday and ride with your crew, if I'm still in one or two pieces after this weekend. Is Brian and his wife the other 2 in you're crew?
-
Looks like our crew is going to try and come in Friday morning. {popcorn} {toast} {letseat}
-
I'll be there again this weekend. Looking forward to seeing some of you guys from the GATR last weekend.
-
Well it is almost that time. We have several WW that are trying to get all of the permissions etc in order to attend the event. Which is good news, and we are having an excellent response otherwise from several clubs across Ga to as far south as Tampa. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
-
still hoping that my Jeep will be fixed.. man this weekend is going to be a busy one for me.. have to be in ATL Sat for MADD walk and then Sun be at RiverRock.. Monday going to see SevenDust here in Augusta.. {ehm} i think i am forgetting something
-
I think I'll be able to come out to this one. I can probably swing the fee out of the budget and hang out on Saturday before I start my new job next week. It'll be good to get onto the trails again. Been off for too long.
Hope I get to see ya'll Saturday.

New Job? I didn't get my Odin serviced. :(

We will be selling tickets to raffle Michaels (Do work 93 YJ) Jeep off. There a $1 a ticket. He has to get rid of it due to all the diapers he is about buy! ;D
-
I heard do work 93 already sold his to a guy that will be there this weekend. He is just going as a spectator or if he wants he can ride in Samurai. {popcorn} But if the guy backs out of deal I will take a ticket, they are $5.00 or a bag of pampers. {toast}
-
My bad I didn't know that he dropped the price to $1.00 and you get 10 tickets per bag of huggies. To get your tickets before they sell out call 678-409-2937, I think only 6,000 tickets were made. :o
-

Well the company is still there...haha
I'd gone as far as I could with the company. Family-owned company glass ceiling among other issues. But, back to the topic. We can cover it this weekend if anyone is interested {toast}
Maybe I can actually make it up that ledge without being pulled this time {letseat}
-
HA HA HA you guys are so funny. ::) Yall only wish I would sell it so you wouldn't have to keep trying to follow me. {nln} :PV ballchain

I might be able to follow those jeeps if my mechanic would stop giving free beat your ride up behind the house lessons. WTF I guess I will head to gum creek rd and work on samurai some more.

Think it's referring to the ditch's Steve dug off the gas line, above the cabins.

anyone ever been with stock suspension and tires? if so was it worth going?

You will have fun, plenty of bypass trails. You may go home with some added pinstripping and rock rash but all part of the game. ;D {toast}
-

last time i went to RiverRock we had a guy in a stock yellow TJ and he had a blast all day. Just bring some wrenches to disconnect your front sway bar and plenty of people there will have air so you can probably use someone to air back up your tires at the end of the day.

I met Micheal (Do Work 93YJ) and his crew this morning, thanks for letting me bum a seat for a little while Micheal. Let me start by saying this crew is a fun crew to ride with. A lot of you met Brad in his XJ at GATR Fest, the rest of this crew consisted of another 1 Ton XJ on Red Lables, a stretched Sammy, and a 'Yota. It all started with the Sheriff's Dept. visit a few minutes after the crew rolled into the park. You know it's going to be a fun day when S.O. is tracking you down. Seems one of the local's backed out in front of the crew on the way in to the park, and got passed on a double yellow to avoid a collision, and commenced to getting P.O.'d, he called S.O.,the cop was cool and in the end told everyone to have a safe day. Next lesson I learned today was that zip tie's, no matter how much we love them, are not a replacement for bolts in your pinion yoke, they just won't hold up to the torque of a drive shaft. I rode with Micheal for a few hours before bailing out to go pick up my Grandson. Here are a few pictures. I will see if any video's are worth posting later.
Zip tie's for driveshaft {no} :

Bolts are better than zip tie's

Thanks Mark for taking pictures for us. Sorry about all the early mishaps that keep us from be able to wheel more while you were there. :-\ I will call you when I get back in town so I can get your spares back to you. We had a blast this weekend and was glad we could help support such a good cause. {salute} The weather was great but the rain early in the week made for a lot rev limiter action. The weekend also turned into another flop fest with a long list of carnage. My list was a flop on horse power hill, bent pass. side main leaf, broke pass. side seat, broke driver side main leaf, and a boke front driveshaft. The sami rolled over on its lid, Red XJ broke transfer case yoke, Brad broke balljoint, yota 4 blown beads, blown water line, dropped front driveshaft, and last YJ buggy flop on horse power hill.

Hate I missed all the fun. Sounds like you guys went all out.
Which hill is called horsepower hill?
Did Steve fix the gully leading to the rock climb up to the gas line/tires?
-
Its the hill climb that starts you in a creek.
The gulley is still there and still swallowing rigs.
-
Hey guys just wanted to post up and thank you all for your support. Had a great time, wish I had more time to wheel with everyone. Will have to get back over to horsepower hill and give it hell again. We were able to raise a $1000 dollars which will be sent to Ft.Benning, where they will use it for Soldiers and their families that are returning from theaters of war. I will post their November news letter when I get it. See you all next year.

Found a picture of Jeremiah's flop on horse power hill. Made it two times and got pressured into trying it a third time. {no}
