I'm going to try to compete in W.E. Rock this year. I know it's going to be difficult. Anthony said that he will spot for me.

May 30th - June 1st .............. Dayton, TN
July 4th - 6th .............. Jellico, TN

looks like you'll run Pro-Mod? you want to save on your tow bill and help my fuel expenses. I'm going to run SM and have enough trailer to pull 3 rigs
-
I wish I could run the Pro Mod, but ill have to change to much stuff. Ill be in the unlimited class.

Rausch Creek, in Pennsylvania is up this weekend. I'm hoping to do well.
Hannibal, Mo = broke detroit locker, 2 front axels, made my spotter mad and he quit, bought new buggy, lost a friend
South Carolina = buggy stops running several times cant figure out whats wrong, but we win...
Dayton, Tn = new spotter Jeff Roland, busted BFG, rained out Sunday and the buggy's ARB mini pump quit and the buggys not running good.
Jellico, Tn = blown motor, hurt feelings, wife mad.
about $66,000 later and i'm in 8th place. I'm thinking I chose the wrong motor sport. Support needed.
-
Yeah, the object is to come out on top... financially and in real time.

WE DROVE 12 HOURS TO RAUSCH CREEK, PA. SATURDAY, WE WERE THE FIRST TO GO ON THE COURSE. WE MADE IT TO THE END OF THE COURSE IN GOOD TIME, NO BACK UPS, AND NO CONES. THEN WE TURNED THE BUGGY OVER ON ITS TOP. WE TOOK A 40 FOR THE COURSE. STARTED OFF WITH A BAD SCORE. THE NEXT 3 RUNS WE HAD VERY GOOD SCORES. WE ENDED UP IN 8TH PLACE OUT OF 12 BUGGYS ON SATURDAY. THE ROLL OVER KILLED US. ON SUNDAY WE HAD 4 VERY GOOD RUNS. ON THE LAST RUN WE BROKE A REAR AXEL. WE FINISHED THE COURSE WITH A BROKEN AXEL AND THE BEST SCORE OF THE COMPETITION. WE FINISHED UP THE EVENT IN 6TH PLACE. 6TH PLACE AND BETTER QUALIFY FOR THE SHOOT OUT. THIS WAS OUR FIRST SHOOT OUT. WE CHANGED THE BROKEN AXEL IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND MISSED THE SHOOT OUT BY 5 MINUTES. WE ENDED UP IN 7TH PLACE FOR THE SEASON. 9TH AND BETTER GETS YOU IN TO THE GRAND NATIONALS IN MISSOURI.
-
Congrats Brian. How many rigs compete in the Grand Nats?
-
9 FROM THE EAST AND 9 FROM THE WEST.

Congrats Brian. Too bad for the rollover and the axle. Sounds like you might would have wooped them without the trouble. Good luck at Nationals. When and where is it? {toast}
-
Great job man! Are you running a D60 in the rear?
-

I got my ass handed to me. The west coast guys were very good. I was up against guys like Shannon Campbell, Jason Paule, Matt Messer, Cody Waggoner, and Jesse Haines. I had a great time. I turned over 7 times and I got pictures coming. I ended up in 11th place.
-
Dang! Was it atleast fun?! Post the pics!

Well, at least you had fun and got to rub elbows with the big shots. I bet those guys are something to behold. You did awesome though in just your first year. I bet you learned a bunch. I guess you know by now exactly where limits of off camber are.
Congrats on a great run Brian. {toast}

So how'd you do? Is that the old blue buggy?
-
11th, no I bought that buggy from Matt Deas. I still have the blue buggy.
-

Nice job man!
I was just wondering cause the tube work looked similar and you ran Krawlers. I know the blue one didn't have rear steer.
-
I'm trying to go this weekend, but not sure if it's going to work out.
That would be great! We've got a nice small "mod" group, and a nice stock group. 9am at the bridge where the pavement ends, then up to the pay station. Hope to see you there!
-
11th, no I bought that buggy from Matt Deas. I still have the blue buggy.
Brian, at that level, how much is vehicle, and how much is driver/spotter?
Can I ask, what it costs to buy a buggy like that?
-
Its more driver/spotter than vehicle. My spotter was Jeff Rowland. He spotted for Matt Deas the last two years. They took first in the east both years. So I bought the winning buggy and had the winning spotter and did not win in WE ROCK series. We won the 2008 Carolina Crawlin WE ROCK Southeast event. The buggy is so complicated to drive that I can't explain it. You can brake individual wheels or you can use the tractor brakes where you push a lever and then the brake and it will only brake one side of the buggy. With the three link on the rear if you leave the ARB locked in certain places the rear tire will go straight up in the air and turn you over. Then you've got the rear steer. It will get you in so much trouble. Theres a big learning curve.
Not to make excuses, but after I bought the buggy I wheeled it for about 3 hours. Every ring in the engine collapsed. We rebuilt the engine. I went to one event and it did the same thing again. We rebuilt the engine again. This time we put the engine back together stock. It still did'nt run right. I called Matt Deas. He said to put a stock junk yard engine back in it. I did. It's sitting in the garage now. It will run, but when it gets up to 190 degrees it starts skipping just like the other engine did. We have replaced everything on it several times. 7 different mechanics have looked at it. We have another computer coming today. Matt had just put this engine in the buggy prior to me buying it. You dont want to know what it cost. $$$$ But after all that it's still all I think about.
-
Thanks Brian. Man that sounds complicated. Needs an on board computer, heads up display, and a joy stick with that much to manage, and it sounds like most of those controls can get you in trouble.
The $$$$ is a bummer :(
Just so you know, we're all jealous. ;)
-
Great pictures and description Brian. I can't wait to see you wheel that thing in person. Do you plan to run the series next year? Nice to see you having sponsorship.

Getting ready for the 2009 season. After Morris Mountain we took the buggy apart. Everything came off. New powder coat, wiring harness, engine, ball joints, and axels. If it wasn't replaced it was inspected. the buggy should be ready next week. We will be running W.E. ROCK east in the unlimited class. The first event will be in Dayton Tn on 04/25/2009. We will be running Ga Trail Riders logo on the side of the buggy. If anyone wants to come up let me know. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, that's awesome that you're showing some support. We'll be glad to help out however we can. Good luck!

Anything would be helpful. Helping to unload the buggy, tools, cooler, and spare fluids would be good. There's not alot of time between courses so knowing where the stuff is located so that when I turn over someone could replace the fluids would be great. Videoing the courses that we run the following day helps. There's alot of small things that would help alot. I'm sure Ill be changing a few axels along the way also.

BUSTED THE FRONT RAM AND HAD TO BACK OUT OF THE COURSE WHICH COST ME 5 POINTS. I'M ONLY 4 POINTS BEHIND 4TH. MY GA TRAIL RIDERS DECALS WOULD NOT STICK. I'VE HAD THEM A LONG TIME. HOPING FOR A GOOD DAY TOMORROW.

First day of competition is over. Only 7 vehicles in my class. Lost my ARB mini pump as I was entering the first run. Timed out with a score of 37. We rebuilt the pump. The rest of the day went good. All scores in the negative. Ended up with a total score of 12. Due to the ARB problem we are in 6th place. Only 2 points behind 5th. In my new wrap I had GATRAILRIDERS.COM put on the side of my buggy. There is a picture on Pirate but it's hard to make out what is says. Looking forward to Sunday.
-
i hope to make it in august depending on school and stuff

Just finished the first day up at Rausch Creek, PA. Ended up in first place after four courses. Ill try to get some pictures up soon. Half of this place is natural and the other half is concrete. We ran the natural courses today. We seen lots of violet rolls on the concrete. The GATRIALRIDERS logo is looking good on my buggy.

Can you post up directions to the Dayton comp? Or is it easy to find? We are going to come by and check it out. Hopefully both days. Comp starts at 1800 on friday night that only leaves 4 hrs of light? Your # is 309 right and your blue still? Do you know where your pit will be? And what does your toe rig look like? You will be easier to find that way.
By the way I am Brian Drap a new member down from Nebraska. I was wanting to show my kids the how the BIG DOGS play! They have only been to Tractor pulls, and Rodeos, never a crawling event. Mountains don't grow in NEB, CORN does.

NO not a yank but not even a reb. Folks from Neb are CORNHUSKERS!!! GO BIG RED!!!
The war was too far away. Im sure some men went, but I was tooo young to go. If any of you want to start it up again, I am with you! I defiantly know what side I WILL be on. I hope our capital will be in Nebraska because we will be in the center of OUR country. We will have to stand in a circle and fight ALL sides. It will be a tough and long war but worth it. All we will half to do is push all of our enemys back state by state to OUR borders! We can even speak a secret language. Don't tell any one yet, but how about ENGLISH they will never know what we are saying. Its perfect!!!

We went up to Dayton on sat night. It was awesome!!! My wife took some pictures. How do I put them up on this site? OR If some one gives me there e-mail address and you know how to post them. I will mail them to you for all to see.
